The Presidents of five countries plus ministers, deputy ministers, government representatives and several delegations have begun to arrive in the country to attend the inaugural of President-elect Danilo Medina and Vice President-elect Dr. Margarita Cedeno de Fernandez.

Today the Presidents of Honduras, Porfirio Lobo Sosa; Panama, Ricardo Martinelli Berrocal; Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos; and Haiti, Joseph Michell Martelly are expected, as well as Mauricio Funes from El Salvador; the governor of Puerto Rico, Luis G. Fortuno and the president of Suriname, Desire Delano Bouterse. Also expected today are the Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbon, the Prime Minister of Holland, Gerrit Francisco Schotte; the vice presidents of Taiwan, Wu Den-yih; Esteban Lazo Hernandez of Cuba; Marisol Espinosa Cruz, representing Peru; and Alfio Piva Mesen, representing Costa Rica.

Ministry of Foreign Relations officials will meet the 119 special guests at the Las Americas Airport. The members of the security forces for the presidents and heads of state are already in the country to coordinate security and protection measures for their charges.

The Prime Minister of Georgia Eka Tkeshalashivili, Abel Coehlo de Mendoca, ambassador for the Republic of Guinea; the ambassador for the Nigerian High Commission, Olatokundoh Kamson; the Foreign Relations minister of Panama, Jaime Nestor Trujillo Castillo and other guests have already arrived in the country.

Security has been increased in the airport arrivals area and the VIP areas have all the communications equipment required. Airport employees are ensuring that the area is clean and the red carpet ready for each arriving visitor.
