Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Malki will travel to the Dominican Republic next week to inaugurate a newly established Palestinian Consulate in Santo Domingo.
The foreign minister will take part in the opening ceremony, to be attended by the newly elected President Danilo Medina, in Santo Domingo, during which the Palestinian flag will be raised over the consulate.
Former president Leonel Fernandez gave his support to the Palestinian UN statehood bid last year.
