Thinking about a 1 night trip to Caberete this next trip.
Looking for some place fairly inexpensive to stay that is close to beach and all the bars

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Kaoba before? Wondering what its like. I see it is pretty cheap

Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

look online for lots of choices...

But I would just go there and walk up and down the strip on the beach side and the street side - there are MANY hotels/rooms available for cheap.

You should check out Ooommmmm's place. I haven't stayed there, but know that it's chica friendly and he's an ISOC member. Kitebeach Hotel.

I'm wondering why you would switch Hotels for just one night ? Unless I guess you planning on staying checked in your Sosua hotel as well, and just go to Cabarete for the one night with an overnight bag.. But unless you drink an Awful lot, you can just take a taxi, publico(although i dont know much about those) or even rent a car, for 1 or 2 days.. which is what I would do.
Sosua to Cabarete Driving is as simple and straighforward as it gets and may be a good experience if you ever want to learn to drive there , etc .

Or OHMMM ( kite Beach Inn) is a sponsor here, maybe he can make a deal with you ? ,and if you like his hotel maybe you stay there longer in the future.
Just some thoughts..

Don't bother replying if your not going to read the post.
I am well capable of searching for available places and have done that already but of these places look much better online than they do in reality.
I was asking about a specific place as well as a recommendation from a board member that has actually been to one of these places.

I have a placed booked in Sosua for my entire stay and will keep it for the entire time
I was just considering spending an entire day and possibly a night as well in case I party to much.
Will probably have some chica time there as well so figure I might need a room for that to.

He keeps his hotel immaculately. All his improvements are of the highest quality materials and workmanship. I cannot remember his prices now but I know I thought they were very reasonable. However it is not primarily a monger hotel like the New Garden, so I am sure he would appreciate low-key behaviour.

Not sure you can consider them cheap but I stayed here once and I loved it. With the exception of the 7 minute drive to Sosua (yes I drive fast:lol:) it's a great location and right near the beach. The entrance is right next to the Orange store in Caberete. The biggest downside was the deposit they required but when we were there we managed to work something out with them.

IIRC, Hotel Kaoba ripped off Kelsey (owner of Sosua Suites) when he was supposed to go in as a partner (Rick could probably confirm this) so Kaoba's on my DR shit list.

Ocean Dream is really nice and location is great (though pricier). Not sure if you could get a one-night stay there, there's usually a minimum stay of 2-3 nights with condo rentals.

Ohmmmm's place looks great and the prices are very reasonable. He's put a lot of work into the place, is an ISOC supporter and a good dude and I always try to give those guys first crack at my hard-earned $$$ - just don't be bangin' your whores on the balcony - it ain't that kinda place.:rofl::rofl:

Thanks Deezl

Sounds like Kite Beach is a good possibility.
Don't worry any chica I take there will be respectable and we will behave.

I think what he was trying to say is that there are 15 dollar a night hotels and there are 300 dollar a night hotels. For some reason you think you were a lot less vague than you actually were.
