President Danilo Medina Sanchez continued announcing new appointments of government agency officials yesterday, Monday 20 August.
The new appointments include former Army chief of staff and president of the Civic Renovation Party, Radhames Zorilla Ozuna. He was appointed head of the Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre). As well as Zorilla Ozuna's appointment, Decree 468-12 also designated as directors: Juan Caraballo in the National Tobacco Institute, Casimiro Ramon in the National Sugar Institute, Alfonso Radhames Valenzuela in the National Agrarian Institute and Rene Jaquez in the National Institute of Student Welfare.
Decree 469-12 appointed Armando Garcia director general of the Presidential Office for Information Technology and Communication (OPTIC). Decree 470-12 appointed Miguel Mercedes deputy director of the National Investigation Department (DNI). With Decree 472-12, the Executive designated Luis Reyes Santos as the Deputy Minister of the Budget, Assets and Accounting of the Ministry of Hacienda and in addition to these functions he will be the Director General of the Budget. Yokasta Guzman was appointed director general of Purchases and Contracts in the same decree.
