The National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) has congratulated President Danilo Medina for his inaugural speech. ANJE president Manuel Cabral Franco told El Nuevo Diario that the "three areas covered by the Social Pact of President Medina (taxes, education and energy) represent the pillars around which there will be tangible changes."

Cabral said that any new tax reforms needed to be agreed upon with collateral guarantees for rational government spending and transparency. ANJE is also hoping that Medina will deal with the issue of the fiscal deficit with proposals that will permit a definition of how to tackle the current situation without placing the entire burden on the shoulders of the population.

Commenting on the Education Pact, ANJE is hoping that the funds going into the ministry will be used efficiently for the fulfillment of the Ten-Year Plan and the National Development Strategy.

Of course, with regard to the energy sector, the association expects the pact to take on the weaknesses of the sector such as the failure to comply with the General Electricity Law, the implementation of the technical index and the diversification of the power matrix as well as a reduction of losses and of the debt to the generators.
