Yesterday, Tuesday 21 August, President Danilo Medina appointed Vice President Margarita Cedeno as coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet and Altagracia Suriel Sanchez as director general of the merged Progress and Solidarity programs.
Jose Ricardo Taveras was confirmed as director general of the Department of Immigration, Pedro Corporan as head of the Institute for Development and Cooperative Credit (Idecoop), Jose Francisco Pena Tavares as administrator of the National Lottery and Ramon Rivas as director of the Dominican Port Authority.
Ramon Gonzalez Paulino was appointed director general of the Administration of Social Subsidies, and Roberto Rodriguez Estrella and Dennys Manzanillo deputy directors of the Department of Taxes (DGII).
Juan Gomez was appointed administrative board member of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE). Angel Cano and Diogenes Rodriguez were designated as members of the administrative board of the Superintendence of Electricity.
Fernando Reyes Alba was appointed deputy director of the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewage (Inapa) and Juan Antonio Ramos Abreu as deputy director general of the Santo Domingo Aqueducts and Sewage Corporation (CAASD).
Omar Caamano was appointed as director general of the General Office of Government Accounting, and Hector Manuel Asencio as deputy director.
Jose Gonzalez Espinosa is to be the director of the Fund for the Promotion of Community Initiatives (Procomunidad), Maritza Lopez de Ortiz as executive director of the Institute of Housing and Assistance (Inavi), Luis Acosta Moreta as director general of the General Office of Community Development and Rafael Peguero Mendez, was appointed executive director of the Institute for the Development of the Southwest (Idesur).
