Robbers who had just made away with fuel stolen from a telecom antenna lost out when chased by the Police, Hoy reports today, Friday 24 August. Their truck overturned when crossing through Yasica, south of Puerto Plata. General Maximo Baez Aybar, general director of criminal investigations at the Police announced via his Twitter account that the men had not yet been identified.
Hoy reports that fuel thieves have caused telecom companies to lose millions. The atenna installations are located in isolated points and have to stock fuel to keep their operations running.
