President Danilo Medina has instructed all public employees who have not been confirmed by decree in their jobs to remain in post. He said that the change of administration should not alter normal government functioning. Communications director Roberto Rodriguez Marchena announced the measure at a press conference yesterday, Monday 27 August.
Nevertheless, Rodriguez Marchena said that President Medina Sanchez would continue with his appointments because the government is in a process of restructuring.
