At a press conference yesterday, Wednesday 29 August, the Federation of Dominican Students (FED) announced that they have reached an agreement with the rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) Mateo Aquino Febrillet, and stated that the increase in the cost of credits and services that had been imposed by him will only apply for this semester.
The Committee fighting against the privatization of the UASD also called on all involved to fight for the provision of 5% of the GNP for the state university.
