According to the US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Wifredo A. Ferrer, Troy Douglas Brimm, 50, from California has been convicted on two counts of traveling from the US to Puerto Plata to engage in illicit sexual conduct with underage boys, and committing the offense while required to be registered as a previously convicted sex offender.
In a statement, Attorney Ferrer said that sexual predators who hoped to avoid prosecution by going abroad to abuse children, were wrong and that they would not tolerate US citizens traveling overseas to commit their heinous crimes. He said that they would prosecute the cases vigorously and seek the most severe penalties.
