Santiago bids to boost development

The presidents of business associations and development institutions in Santiago, the signatories to the Santiago 2016 Commitment, have laid out six priority areas for promoting the development of Santiago. The proposals include an increase in schools, literacy, health, elimination of gender violence, and serious thought to those projects that the province requires and which should be included in the 2013 budget. The group that supports the Santiago 2020 Strategic Plan includes the Chamber of Commerce and Production, the board of the Strategic Plan, the Traders Association and the North Region Industrialists Association, as well as other civic and business groups.
