Tropical storm Leslie is passing north of the Dominican Republic and is expected to bring swell and rain storms, mainly to the east coast (from Samana to Cap Cana), the Samana peninsula and the north coast. The Weather Department (Onamet) has alerted boats in the area to the weather conditions. The side effects of the passing of Leslie are expected to start on Monday afternoon, 3 September, as reported Onamet. The storm is forecast to pass 550 miles from the DR at its closest.
