The judge in charge of the execution of sentences in the National District, Saulo Isabel Diaz, has issued a warrant for the arrest, capture and imprisonment of Deputy Ramon Antonio Fernandez Martinez, (PRD, Santiago Rodriguez) who has been sentenced to a year in jail for cohabiting with a 14-year old girl.
The sentence was originally suspended for six months but the judge said that it has now been decided to remove the suspension due to a decision by the Constitutional Court.
He said that although the Deputy had judicial privilege, article 24 of the Constitution said that the rights of a citizen are withdrawn in cases of irrevocable sentencing for a criminal offence, until the sentence is completed.
