The Corripio Foundation has awarded its winners for 2012, the sixth year of these prizes. In Social and Judicial Science, historian Roberto Cassa was the recipient of the diploma, the statuette and a check for RD$1,000,000. In Journalism, the award went to Santiago Estrella Veloz, and in Art, eminent painter Guillo Perez will receive yet another award for his great work.
The prizes will be given out during a ceremony on 19 October in the Carlos Piantini Hall of the National Theater, according to Jose Luis Corripio Estrada, the executive director of the foundation.
