The Chamber of Deputies has passed the first reading of a proposed law aimed at regulating the sales and export of scrap metals including copper and aluminum waste, which proposes a fine of 50 minimum salaries for businesses or individuals who break the law.
The chairman of the Industry and Commerce Committee, Alberto Atallah, asked the Chamber to support the proposals in order to send a message to scrap metal thieves.
