For the second consecutive week the Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced an increase in the price of nearly all of the fuels used in the Dominican Republic. Regular gasoline went up RD$2.50, premium RD$3.20, and diesel went up by RD$2.50. Even LPG went up this week, by RD$2 per gallon. Only natural gas was maintained at last week's price of RD$30.50 m3. The Ministry said that the raises are the result of the upward trend in the prices of refined fuel products, combined with the reduction of production in the OPEC countries and the job situation in the United States, the world's largest energy consumer.
