The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is reporting that a low-pressure trough is approaching the northeast of the country and in addition to the humidity that it carries, the east/northeast wind will cause scattered thundershowers today, Wednesday 12 September, over the northeast, southeast, the Central Mountains and the border with Haiti to the west. Temperatures are expected to remain high. They advised people to "carry an umbrella."

Onamet also updated on the tropical cyclone conditions and said that it is watching now Tropical Storm Nadine that is located far to the east of Hispaniola and the Lesser Antilles, but the storm is not expected to become a threat for the island.
