Senate president Reinaldo Pared Perez said yesterday, Tuesday 18 September, that the President of the Republic would not impose an integrated fiscal reform. "One thing for sure is that the government headed by Danilo Medina is not going to do anything that is not agreed upon with the sectors involved when dealing with an integrated fiscal reform," he declared. Pared Perez told Diario Libre that the President himself has already said that he is going to reach agreements with all sectors that could be affected.
He reiterated that it was better to wait and see if the government signs with the IMF as well as for Danilo Medina's meeting with the Economic and Social Council.
