Induveca - our salami contains meat

In a statement sent to El Caribe in response to a claim published in the newspaper by Pedro Porrello of the Dominican Pork Farmers Association, who said that meat processors in the DR have replaced local pork with imported MDM (mechanically deboned meat), leading Dominican salami producer Induveca maintains that since 2009 they have purchased more than 64 million pounds of pork for more than RD$2 billion on the local market and have imported more than 30 million pounds of pork. The company complained that the journalist did not contact them for their side of the story, going on to say that the Ministry of Public Health has sanitary records of all their products. Induveca has asked the newspaper to print a retraction.
