President Danilo Medina will travel to New York on Sunday afternoon, 23 September to participate in the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations, reports the Presidency.
Unconfirmed media reports say Medina is scheduled to speak on Tuesday, 25 September. The Presidency has not announced who will be accompanying Medina on his first trip abroad.
The 67th session of the UN General Assembly officially opened on Tuesday, 18 September. The annual general debate will begin on 25 September and will last till Monday, 1 October. The heads of government, ministers and other representatives of member countries will be taking part. Traditionally, in the sessions for general debate, more than 100 heads of state and government, as well as the foreign ministers and the heads of delegations make speeches to the Assembly.
