According to National Police spokesman Diego Pesqueira, the Higher Police Board has recommended to the Executive Branch that Lieutenant Colonel Oscar Jimenez Vargas be dismissed from the Police Complaints' Reception Office where he was charging RD$50 in order to certify lost identity documents, without issuing receipts.
Pesquiera said that this was a serious dereliction of his duties and that others were also being investigated.
