Went to the playa chiquita casino disco last night grand opening. Off the strip diffinitely not walking distance .
Car needed . Very nice spot. The music and patrons was a variety of locals and tourists. Big dance floor with laser light show . All of the local strip chics were there . I did not pay to go in @1Am , but heard others say cover charge was 200 pesos. .
Kind of expensive , ordered Bottle of anjero brugal with soda was 1800 pesos. Usually would cost 900 pesos.
I see them taking the late night crowd from casino across from Victorian house.

Was there last night as well. Did not know that until I got there. They were handing flyers outside City lights.
Only had to pay for one admission for whatever reason, was 200 pesos for either her or me not sure which.
Nice place but as you said, out there. Moto charged 200 pesos saying because it was so far, first and last time there for me.
Busy place but see how long that lasts with the moto's killing it.

Brings back memories of 2007-9 when Playa Chiquita was the after hour spot.

Last night was opening night iirc. Sounds like there was more than a few there. It'll be interesting to see if the locale can support the late night crowd.

Will have to head that way one night.........if I can stay awake that long.:lol:

200 moto there
200 to get in
200 moto back to room

I wonder what the taxi guys want to charge.....

Even if you have a car you have those self appointed parking attendants trying to control every parking spot one to two blocks away from the clubs. It does not cost much but every little way that a cent can be squeezed out has been invented in Sosua.

A chic was crying yesterday while telling me that everything in Sosua is money, money, money.... These chics can't keep up with some of the cost if they are not getting any customers.

Spoke with Willie last night he told me he has a licence to stay open until 6am so we can do that Irie.....no problem right?????:rofl::rofl::rofl:

He said he is shipping in a lot of "new to Sosua" girls from out of town............similar to what he did when D'Latin first opened

He also told me that D'Latin should be opening again in about 2 months exactly as before.

Vamos a ver!!!!!!!!:p

Nice having options. Especially when distance is a factor at times.
Found myself @ merengue and Premium most of the time . Variety is the key to spice 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Cosign on Premium Disco
When that place is pumping, its like NO other Disco.. its small, but man can that DJ get the crowd dancing. And they play DOMINICAN music..and the locals really get their Dance on.
I love that place . the more packed the better .

All I can tell you is that it was busy when I got there just after 1am, but that was grand opening night. Guessing that it will fill shortly after everywhere else closes. See what the future holds but not likely I'll go back and with the associated costs and distance it might not help it's cause.

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time seeing as the building has been completely dismantled.

.

I was thinking the same thing
There would have to be an awful lot of work done to the place to be able to get it ready to open

They probably wont even have the sidewalks finished by then but I doubt the powers that be even want to finish the sidewalks anytime soon

The sidewalk project resumed a couple of weeks ago. The new curbs went in a few days back. There's hope yet

I took an UBER (late model vehicle in excellent condition) home from the hospital yesterday. We're talking CEDIMAT (north SD) to west SD. $189 pesos for a 15 minute drive.

Where the fuck are they coming up with those numbers? They can drive their bike for a week with 200 pesos.

How can Uber make money charging 3rd world prices? What is their cut on a 100P fare?

Care to elaborate why? Curious....

The place is smaller than I thought...
not many people ( I would say at peak time we were probably around 100/120 people.
and the prices are high:
presidente pequena is 150 pesos
un trago ( baileys) was 350 pesos
the music selection was so so...
the bartenders and waiters were not very pretty...
i don't want to say it's a horrible place because it is not but overall I don't see myself going there often.

I don't know the reason for it not lasting but.....

To travel there round trip once a day would cost 400 to 600 pesos if the motos and taxis charged 200 to 300 one way. Not many people will pay that.

Isnt this the Place WILLY, " El Chamo" opened ?

Of course it would get shut down.. as long as Iliana is the Mayor ,there is no way this guy gets to open a "Club" of any kind in Sosua.
A pretend Restaurant ? Maybe , maybe. personally i think she will do everything she can to have that shut down too, when he opens

IMHO

Bobby has a Better shot of opening Rumba as a WHORE Bar again

again imho.

AN UPDATE . . .

Another business CLOSED in Sosa last week. Willie/Armando's "Latin Club" disco, located inside the Playa Chiquita casino, was closed down by the authorities. Not even lasting a month after the much heralded grand opening. However Willie has been assuring everyone that this is just a "technicality" and it will be re-opening "any day". Hmmm, where have we heard that before?"

Not sure how accurate it is , but he seems to know more than most whats going on in town, some suspect he may be working for the Mayor directly ?
who knows .. could be real or fake .
maybe Someone in town can check for live update ..

He sure acts like he is in the know with a direct link to the Mayors office or something

I tried questioning him on where he gets all his inside info before.

He didn't seem to like it to much. :corky: :corky:

Maybe he is here as well under another name but I doubt it.
