Santo Domingo.- The growing arrival of Venezuelan women who turn to prostitution in the country starts to concern Dominican sex workers, who complain that they "turn tricks" at below the local market price.

Women's Movement (Modemu) president and former "hooker" Jacqueline Montero said she has received complaints from former colleagues working in Santo Domingo's Malecon, that the South Americans charge as little as RD$2,500 per trick, or below the RD$3,000 which the locals usually charge the "johns" (customers).

"The Venezuelan colleagues have come to invade the market, being very elegant women, because we aren't going to take away their merits, they came with their own hair, not like us who bought it; come with their lipo (liposuction) done, came prepared and are very cute and on top of that, come with a lower cost," the activist said.

Quoted by elcaribe.com.do, Montero called on the foreigners not to "ruin the business" and charge the same price as the Dominicans. "I think the merchandise doesn't have to be so cheap. Everything has gone up, even the lemisol (douche) and the lye soap," Montero said with a laugh.

Men who've used the Venezuelan's sexual services say the foreign women, in addition to being elegant, are usually more educated and less demanding than the Dominicans.

"They look better, are more educated, don't ask for tips and don't demand other things," said a man who asked not to use his name.

They say there are pimps in the East region's tourist areas, who even take them to hotels for a price well below what the Dominican women charge.

Strange the Venezuelans I have met ask on the average slightly more in my opinion. Very true and for some of what was mentioned in the article such as looks and education. I think the Dominicans don't want the competition and the lower price is a false narrative.

This is much different than Sosua where we heard complaints about Haitians taking much less back in the day. In the case of the Haitians it was true and still may be to a certain extent these days.

Before the crack down Haitians fucked up the price of punani for the usual suspects of Dominican breeding. They were looking for 2500RD on Duarte and the Haitians were offering threesomes for half that. I got several TLNs for 500RD just because they needed somewhere safe to spend the night. Shit was crazy back then.

I am looking forward to running into a Venezuelan or twenty in the D.R because my experiences with them in Aruba and Sint Maarten were all good.

Nah, you know that will never happen..
they will just continue to Ramp UP their Bitching and Complaining and demand them OUT of their Country, before they would EVER Consider improving their Service or Attitude.

You see, Unlike Americans , the Dominicans totally Lack the Political Correctness Filter

cant wait to see how this plays out ..

Well, they are like children, so a Short Attention Span does not surprise me . so you are probably right .

so you are also saying though that the SERVICE will NOT go up, to compete ?
they will just raise the prices, and look for more Suckers instead..

What do you mean the service will not go up. You mean quality of the service? Of course not.. when you talk about a puta giving her body for some money she is just doing that.. giving her body and that is what you get... if she is good she is good.. if not she is not... another story is when she likes you... then is a different ballgame... a starfish can become a pornstar if she is interested in you... but if/when it's just about money...
this is my opinion/Experience... the main reason why I pretty much stopped involving sex and money.. at the beginning I thought it would make things easier and no drama, but I soon realize that the drama was still there and I was just wasting my money with some putas that were not interested in pleasing me... just not worth it

What I observed when in Sosua last was that the dominicanas seemed to be chasing the big score while the Haitianas were getting most of the good customers. When I say good customers I'm talking about guys that will wife up a chick for several days where she doesn't have to be constantly hustling in the street. The haitiana might have been taking less, but at the end of four days she probsbly had more money than the dominicana who may have only landed two fish in four days while going home alone two out of four nights.

And apparently, the dominicanas didn't take those same business classes. In this example, the Dominican chica will only see that she has received less at that moment. She won't think in terms of future or bigger picture. Damn shame!

Mongers fucked up the pricing.

There is a new breed of chicas and new breed of mongers that have been in and out of Sosua the last few years. We know everyday some chicas turn 18 or enter the trade and everyday new mongers arrive on the scene. The new chicas quote a new guy a price and he takes it--that's her asking price form there on.

I like to try to have these business conversations after forming a slight bond with some chicas. My main chica the last few trips charges $4,000 or CIEN $ if a dummy walks up and asks "how much" in clasicos. But, I've never discussed money with her and just give her a est. $10K for 3-4 full days. She has her own pesos if I don't have exact change for a moto or food that she don't mind offering up.

Yeah as discussed b4 some guys have noted that they are paying more for less up there. Perhaps the chicas have also benefited from the Obama economy, internet and increased demand for DR booty. The frugal mongers competing with the make it rain crowd. The exponential growth in WU novios sending money because they have it and getting hookers apartments, buying them cars, helping them set up salons and in addition the girls note these guys flying to sosua every other month and how they live and what they bring with them. Marrying hookers in Clasicos. The new crop of chicas can't help but have different expectations, especially when many of the new mongers think they are getting a bargain because they are used to paying $200 or more on backpage, or at a strip club and not even getting laid. The vibe in Bourbon Street is also a lot different than Rumba.

Spend a Friday or Saturday night in City Lights and you will see a whole lot of Haitianas that look to be getting very well taken care of.

I see more of them just there for a good time and not necessarily looking to get picked up unless they choose to.

Many of them are really nicely dressed and very attractive and they are getting paid somewhere.

That was also my impression. Very little if any aggressiveness. From all appearances most are simply out enjoying themselves. Something like the dominicanas were during my first years visiting Sosua.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a certain arrogance about them. Then a great dictator arrived on the scene and brought them down to earth,no longer as arrogant but still fine looking women. They carry themselves in a certain manner.

5. Venezuelan Oil Reserves Are Worth A Potential 54.8 Trillion Dollars

104 Trillion liters of oil equal to 27.43 Trillion US Gallons of oil. (A US Gallon is different to other countries gallons.) The average price of one gallon in NY is $2.00 (http://www.newyorkgasprices.com/). After further calculations, the value of Venezuela’s oil reserves to the consumer equals to a massive 54.87 Trillion dollars even with oil prices at current low rates. However it should be understood that for an oil producing nation that exports the majority of their product, Venezuela will never be able to gain the maximum value of their product as consumers are overseas.
