Alta Vista Restaurante, Jarabacoa

I recently connected with an ex sex worker who gave up the life and is now a hostess at Alta Vista Restaurante in Jarabacoa.

Alta Vista is a restaurant that is set in the hills of Jarabacoa and provides a vista view of the Cibao Valley

The view reminded me of the a similar view from Cam David restaurant and hotel. Camp David is seated above the mountains of Santiago. IMHO the view of Alta Vista is better because there is no city below it is more natural.

They also have a helicopter tour service, you pay by the hour to take an Ariel tour of the area but I did not get the prices.

Alta Vista is simply a restaurant and bar with an indoor section and a outdoor open air terrace.

This is no doubt a high end restaurant I would give it 4 stars minimum. The menu items include, steak, fish and seafood. There were many menu items at 1000 pesos.

My dinner dessert and drinks totaled about 3000 pesos. For more expensive items and drinks to include high end wine you could easily pay 5000 pesos and up in this restaurant.

My review

This is an EXCELLENT restaurant I was thoroughly impressed with the staff as they were very professional. They also have live entertainment on the weekends. The food portions were small but I had salmon and it was some of the best I have ever tasted. The restaurant is expensive by Dominican standards but IMHO the view and the dining experience is worth the price you pay for dinner.

I highly recommend the experience.

Looks like a lovely spot and not too expensive for that level of service. Great view thanks for the report!

you cant take it with you and its good to live large once in awhile and enjoy life:iconTU:

I seldom pay anywhere near that as I am just a country hick:lol: but if I was going to a 4 star restaurant with drinks dessert and a great meal the price would easily be three or four times that per person in Canada and I am sure that would be on the low price side for some locations

In Atlanta there are many high end restaurants that don't offer the ambiance or the view for the same price if not more. My salmon was 800 pesos ($16.00) which is normal for a decent restaurant. The costly items on the menu were the lobster prime rib and of course the alcoholic beverages to include expensive wines etc.

That dish is too easy to cook. I could make it in 15 minutes for
$3/plate. It won't save you any time going to a restaurant
because you have to wait 15 minutes anyway while they make it.
After eating I bet there are free parks with a similar view for
free. Bring a six pack or a bottle of wine for $3-$5. You can
get pretty much the same experience for $4000 pesos less. This
place is a one time thing to say you made a visit or a very
special occasion. Or you're just loaded.

I forgot to say this is a nice report.
