Bee Live Hamaca Hotel, Boca Chica

I recently spent a day at Bee Live Hamaca Hotel in Boca Chica.

This a massive property that would be easy to get lost on. Part of the hotel is on the beach at Boca Chica. The hotel has several pools, restaurants a spa and a weight room. It is an all inclusive resort with plenty of activities to keep you busy.

How did you find the talent while in town??

Or did you bring someone with you ???

Just wondering cuz I know Yayow had talked of a crackdown going on.

I had a date, the resort isn't really monger friendly since it is all inclusive. It is more of a place to share with a special person.

That was many months ago, no more crackdown.

I haven't seen this much talent in Boca Chica in 5 or 6 years. The restaurants are packed, the piano bar is packed every night, they had to bring out more tables on the street to try and accommodate the clients, and still can't the next club over gets some of the excess. Hope it keeps up all season.

If you don't get there realitivly early you won't get a seat on the street.

Kviar Casino

I was surprised to find the facility had a Kviar Casino inside jut before you reach the check in desk. I did not participate since I do not gamble.

It's weird to see Christmas in the Dominican Republic when it is 80 degrees outside.

I was even more surprised to see it in Thailand

This was mid November outside of a mall in Khon Kahn

I wasn't sure Christmas was even much of an event in Thailand with the large Buddhist influence

My room

I had a pool view basic room

It was a gigantic room plenty of space but the furniture and room in general was very old and worn. It was obvious this was an old hotel.

***One of the WORST things was there was no WIFI in the rooms only in the common areas. I am glad I had my hot spot or I would have went crazy without internet.

Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club

There are two sections to the resort the regular section and the VIP section. Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club has part of the VIP section.

http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=147507&stc=1

I have not sat through a time share presentation in ions but I got hood winked into sitting through the Lifestyles presentation.

The rooms, food, pools and beach were totally different on the VIP section. The offer was $10,000US down you get a 80% discount on all rooms in hundreds of hotels world wide. The duration of the agreement was 35 years...if I live another 35 years I'll be doing good.

I told them I had no intention of paying 10k we go around and around. Then he says $999US down I get 80% discount on all rooms in their affiliate hotels world wide. This agreement was for 2 years and the deposit could be used to upgrade my contract at a later date. Then he hits me in the head with 2 free weeks 1 at the Puerto Plata location and the other at the Punta Cana location....hmmmmmmmmmmm why didn't you say that in the beginning?

The second deal sounded doable I would get my depost back just on the 2 weeks of free rooms. But I walked away with 2 t-shirts but before I left the supervisor offered me a job at the Lifestyles in Puerto Plata. 8 hours a day selling vacation packages 6 days a week...uhmmmmmmmmm thanks but no thanks...

There was clearly a difference in the VIP section and I loved the rooms.

funny that view of the Caribbean Sea, looks just like mine, with a few changes and I have been living in mine for almost 5 years, but without that cost. Guess I will stay where I am, just saying!

I'm here to tell you that you have the best deal going in Boca Chica as far as an apartment is concerned. Hold on to that sucker as long as you can.

There are also 2 beaches on the property

There is the public beach for regular residents and the private beach for VIP residents.

yes sir, you are so correct, and I am so fortunate, and I know it. Been here for awhile, but realize it could change in a heartbeat, nature of the beast. Once a few years back, the owner got approached by another friend that wanted in and offered to buy half the property, of course if that happened I would have been out, as there are only two apartments here. The one that was flirted with the offer told me about it, both being my friends said they would take care of me, help me move pay my new deposit on my new place etc., nice offer but hey who knows what would actually would have happened. As it turned out the deal fell through and I have remained, but enough money offered I know I would be history, but a good ride I have had.

My daughter just made a deal on a new apartment in Bella Vista today, I had to sign as a guarantee on the rent, brand new apartment, beautiful area, could see myself in that area if it was ever time ever to move. Tell you one thing if I moved there, probably my mongering days, at least as they are here and now, would basically be over, would find one and settle down I think except for short trips to Sousa for a few days every two or three months. Living in those areas you don't monger, a whole different vibe.

Hard not to monger here in Boca Chica, but there totally different. I mongered when in Gazcue because, partly because of the chica clubs located there and the opportunities afforded in the colonial zone, which was the next area over, but I didn't monger like I do here when I lived there. Just not something you did there. In Bella Vista or a similar area, it would be totally different, and I would adapt to my new area, no doubt in my mind.

Dining

There are various dining options on the property, I only ate a snack in the Snack Bar which is open during the hours the other restaurants are closed. The Snack Bar is on the beach and had pre-prepared hamburgers, wings French fries etc.

The main dining area is a buffet for breakfast and dinner, I am not sure about lunch

Other than the Snack Bar and the main buffet dinning area there are several other restaurants on property that I did not visit. The VIP section also has a separate eating area. Therefore you have a variety of eating options on the property.

Conclusion

I only stayed on the property for 1 day so I did not have a chance to take advantage of the different pools weight room disco and other amenities. IMHO you would need at least 3 days to enjoy the resort in its entirety and I was not willing to make that type of investment.

What impressed me most is that the resort is literally two different places. The regular rooms were decent but obviously old and worn but the VIP section was the next level and a totally different ambiance it was as if you were at a different resort.

My personal pet peeve was no WIFI in the rooms, I can't see spending all that money and not being connected to the internet. You are given a wrist band which identifies which type of guest you are and the property is crawling with security checking for people who do not belong. This is NOT a monger spot it is a vacation spot that would best be shared with your family or a significant other because there is plenty to do.

It was a decent experience however personally I do not believe I would return because there are many other resorts on the Island that I would like to experience.

I have been into the Hamaca resort in 2011. It was by far the worst resort I have ever been to...
the food option were awful.. I remember the burgers and other food sitting for hours under the sun with mosquitos on...
Again this was 6 years ago so maybe today the situation is different... I would never go back to that place anyway... If you want the resort experience I can suggest much better options in much better areas..

Regular admission is for locals used to toilets with no toilet seats, hours of power outages a day, and dangerous tap water. Hamaca is an upgrade for them.
