Hotel Napolitano & Casino- Santo Domingo

Hotel Napolitano is located on Avenida George Washington which is the Malecon in Santo Domingo. I spent 1 night there with a date and I found the experience to be decent. I thought it was interesting to see that the late check out fee was $15.00US as opposed to $100.00US at the Weston Hotel.

The lobby. Reception went smooth they speak English or Spanish whatever you prefer. There is a casino and other shops in the lobby.

My room. The prices of the rooms depend on the amount of guest in each room and the size of the room. With taxes and fees they start at $100.00 a night.

I had a mini bar in my room, I didn't record the menu prices but I took some chips peanuts and a drink for 600 pesos so I spent about 200 pesos per item kind of expensive.

The room was dated the hotel has been around since 1975, however it was clean and neat with a great view of the Malecon and the ocean. The WIFI and the air conditioning were strong.

My date arrived after me and there was no problem with her getting onto the property, she sat in the lobby and waited for me to come down and I walked past the front desk without ID or anything.

Terrace, Pool, Bar & Restaurant

The best feature of the hotel IMHO is the terrace; everything you want is there. They have a view of the Malecon a bar and a pool. It was a very laid back atmosphere and great for a date.

Sorry I couldn't get a better photo but I was with my date and I did not want to be too conspicuous. There was a 9 in a black bikini she was beautiful in person I tried not to stare.

The Food

There was a grill outside with a limited menu that included steaks, fish and chops. I had the grilled salmon which was decent154928154929

There is a free buffet breakfast in the morning that you can eat on the terrace.

Conclusion

Although I only stayed for 1 night I enjoyed my visit and would return. The hotel is centrally located and I like the view of the Malecon from both my room and the terrace. The only problem might be the traffic and the noise from the Malecon on busy days. The breeze off the ocean was very comfortable.

The hotel was obviously dated but the grounds seemed to be overall well kept. The staff were friendly and professional. I had no problem with my date entering the property. In addition I saw two taxis out front each time I looked.

I would give it a 3 star rating and would definitely return.

I ve stayed there several times and I like it too. The last time was about a year ago. At night the working girls were in the Casino. They were hanging around the lobby too.
