It's Friday afternoon and Pedro Clisante is almost empty! I heard the Policia Nacional were picking up the girls last night. Friday afternoon is usually quite busy with all of the girls in for the weekend. Most unusual!!!

Nothing new as far as police picking up chicas. Some of the hardcore, aggressive types need to be picked p or ran out of town sometimes. while others are cool and sort of minding their own business, could be left alone.

From my experience the last few years, daytime is dead on the strip. You see more couples, 'normal' tourists, etc...at the bars and restaurants. I actually like it that way during the day time--gives me incentive to venture to other areas and activities.

Things always pick up at night. Give it a few hours.

This morning I heard that we have a new Police Chief. Major Gillen was here 2010-2011 as head of what was then Politur. He is now back as a Colonel of the National Police. He is a real piece of work. A shakedown specialist. This cannot be good for business.

Low season is always interesting. 3 years ago on July 7th is when Turismo went around and shut down all the bars on pedro clisante that didn't have the proper paper work and made them serve food and not just liquor. 2 years prior to that in low season the new POS computer system was implemented by the government in order for businesses to properly collected taxes from their patrons. What will this year bring?

Low season/high season, plice crackdowns, early closings etc.....it's all motivation to create and keep a good rotation and not be dependent on the activity of Pedro Clisante....as long as I can get a meal when I need to and the supermarkets stay open.

That’s the way I see it. There are thousands of woman between Gaspar and POP that ain’t going nowhere regardless of what the cops are doing in Sosua. Then there’s the semi-permanent pros that live in and near Sosua that aren’t going anywhere. Yes, a newbie might experience some difficulty finding what he wants. To anyone who comes often and has put together a team what happens on Pedro is merely a distraction.

Looks like the local ladies are having to change their style of dress. Lots of jeans and long pants yesterday. Is there a new dress code? Something is going on!

I think women in general everywhere are wearing more jeans, yogo pants, tights etc...nowadays as opposed to shorts. You still see the occasional classic puta dresses, but many have elevated their style, perhaps to blend in more places.

Was chatting with some friends visiting last night and they were saying more chicas were renting motos to avoid some harassment from police. The more attractive ones IMHO will not need to walk up and down the strip aimlessly and will find a way to the bar during peak hours.

They always do. Every now and then one will slip up and get arrested, but it’s a rare occurrence. I also think that the higher end chicks get treated better by CESTUR when they do get arrested. There’s a lot of trash girls in the streets these days. I can see the local business owners pushing for PN/CESTUR to clean that mess up. The one picture I saw was obviously a day time round up. Pretty much only rats in the streets before 6 pm.

I can only explain jeans by the availability in a cheap Chinese store or La Pulga; remember when fake MK (Michael Kors) was everywhere?

Hopefully Ilana will be out soon as a mayor after her two terms, it's when she took the office the things started to spiral down.

Also, everyone tries to figure out where the source of the fake campaign against tourism comes from, and what type of pressure is put on and why, because bookings are seriously down and airlines now waive fees to re-book your flight!
