Hello,

I haven't posted in a long while, just getting my feet wet once again. But I am looking for any new info on San Cristobal & for Santiago both in the Dominican Republic. It's time to change my travel destinations there and find something new. Santiago is where I do have an apartment, so I am just looking for places that I haven't seen yet. San Cristobal is a new area that I am doing a lot of research on, because I feel it might be a hidden gem. Any info that you provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, I was going by the user name of Osanhopps, but I was having difficulty signing back into my account. So I decided to re-register.

How did you decide on San Cristobal?

I have been getting a lot of request from the area, and saw some very lovely ladies there. I am not a tourist, so areas that don't have a lot traffic always interest me. There's a beach, also it's just outside of Santo Domingo on the westside. So nightlife isn't a problem. Let's be real now, we all are looking for those hidden gems before the get corrupted by massive movement. Just look at Sosua now! The north coast of the island will be taken over by cruise ships and big business interest. So we all should be looking for those hidden spots.

Can you fill us in on that area?

San Cristobal is 15-20 minutes outside of Santo Domingo on the westside. Not a big tourist area, which is fine with me. There is a beach Playa Najayo where it's mainly locals, but has the shops you need to get what you want. The nightlife isn't much, but because of its proximity to Santo Domingo you can party there. The woman are very friendly and reasonable, because they don't see a lot of tourist. My biggest fear is because places are closing down in the northern part of the island, people will start hitting the hidden gems. Will have a more indepth report the next time I am in Santo Domingo. Planning a trip very soon.
