I personally apologize to everyone for not contacting you sooner. However, over the past several months we have faced numerous obstacles and changes regarding the reopening:

A presidential election on July 5th, 2020 and inauguration of the new president on August 16th, 2020.
During this whole time the country has been through several different night time curfews; these curfews will end September, 5th 2020.
As a result, by ending the curfew at night, this will no longer affect your night time travel.

Over the next several weeks we will provide additional requirements regarding tourist travel to the Dominican Republic.

Your Safety ...

I have contracted ECO-LAB (one of the largest chemical and sanitizing companies in the world) to come in and train every single employee on how to use their products to sanitize rooms, common areas and provide hand sanitizers throughout common areas of the hotel. We do however, recommend you bring your own masks and hand sanitizer for your room as these products are difficult to procure locally.

As all of my veteran pirates know, I am a fanatic about cleanliness and can assure you that we will exceed even the CDC recommendations ... my promise is to keep you safe.

In the meantime, please check with the Department of State and your airline regarding any issues that you may encounter with traveling to the Dominican Republic.

John, the owner, I believe still owns it, as he replied to my email directly to him a few days before he sent out to newsletter that they were opening Sept. 15, taking reservations beginning Sept 1. He did not directly answer my question about the sale, but if he sold it, he wouldn't be the one sending out info.

No chicas stay at BB unless they are there for TLN. They're gone by 11pm or midnight, if not staying for TLN

Curfew is supposed to end Sept. 5, & BB is reopening Sept. 15. If they extend the curfew, they probably will only stay for TLN.

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR RESREVATION REGARDING THE REGULATIONS OF COVID-19 IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Airport/COVID-19 Testing…
Until recently the government had required a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival (within 5 days), or risk a random government test at the airport. Fortunately, this testing procedure is NO LONGER REQUIRED! (if you happen a negative test please bring it with you anyway).
Employees and Chicas…
Unbelievably! The government has decided not to provide travel permits for either employees or chicas during the curfew hours. The great news is that all of my nighttime employees and CHICAS have agreed to help circumvent this requirement (travel permit) and have accepted my offer to stay at the hotel and provide all necessary services.
Reservations/Cancellations/Changes…
Shit happens, and I want to ensure you that will be total flexibility regarding reservations, cancellations and changes. DO NOT WORRY about these issues; as there will be no repercussions regarding any changes.
Curfew…
As part of the continued state of emergency all Dominicans and tourists will be subject to a curfew from Monday – Friday: 7:00 PM – 5:00 AM and Saturday – Sunday: 5.00 PM – 5.00 AM, This curfew (for now) will extend through October 18th, 2020.
Masks…
Wearing a mask and social distancing are mandatory in public areas in the Dominican Republic outside of the hotel. Depending on the occupancy we may be forced to ask you to wear a mask while in the common areas of the hotel. We need to cover our ass (mouth) in the event of a surprise visit by the Department of Tourism (this could shut us down) as well as respect for other Pirates that are staying at the hotel.
Bottom Line…
We will operate the hotel as normal, and you can expect the bar and restaurant to have a full menu; along with the great service that we always strive to provide. The only inconvenience will be the night-time curfew. The beaches will be open and there will be no restrictions on daytime travel or excursions.

Is Blackbeards going through some problems. The wibsite did not work for me today. I was rerouted to an online pharmacy for Viagra.

I dont know if Niko is still working there.

It was in December when I was told that it was sold.

I hope the legacy of this business does not crumble. Im aure they can work it out if they are resilient.
