I finally experienced Lou's World Famous New York Shark Bar. Had the NY Strip dinner with all the trimmings, w/ handmade fries and veggies. And I have to say, Hands Down, the Best meal I have had yet in the DR. Lou's is now my afternoon place to grab a meal before the evenings festivities begin. Great Food, Great English conversation and friendly staff.
Lou makes sure everyone knows your name and your only a stranger as your crossing the threshold the first time. My favorita Angela had a chicken dish (can't remember the name), also loved it, and she commented on what a friendly place it was. I didn't make it for the St. Paddy Day party tho.
Met Bob at the bar - (I think that's his name)
Met Lou of course - Thanks for your hospitality!
Met Guttaman -I still owe you a couple of beers, kept missing you at Lou's
Met ErikS - good to meet you
The Barmaids - no names, (they say your memory is the second thing to go) great staff - very friendly & helpful - and cute
I Highly Recommended visiting Lou's if you haven't had the chance yet.

Rented a motobike, almost got killed like 3 times, got some good pics, met some new favoritas, made some new friends, found a new place to eat, hooked up with a 20yo Santiago college student (girl), and more....
is this a great country or what?

Rented a scooter from Cindy Motor Car Rental not far from Lou's place, towards Passions. I had gotten directions from Beads about a good place to rent near the "Chicken Stand". I don't think this was the one, although there was a Chicken Stand nearby so I thought it would still ok (?). They wanted $600 a day but finally got it for $2200rd for four days. Easy folks to deal with, no problems. They wanted Passport but accepted my CT drivers license without any hassle. Bike broke down once, pushed it over and they fixed it, a broken plug wire, in a few minutes. I went to return it on Sunday, they didn't have a key for the lockbox where my License was so they said to keep another day. no charge. All in all, seemed like a decent place to do business with.

While waiting to make a left hand turn with Angela behind me, wasn't paying attention and almost got t-boned by a crazy motoconch driver, so she punched me. I guess my driving had been scareing her and the near miss set her off. But it worked out, cause I took her home and spanked her bottom.

the rental place I use is Tutti Fruti right between Europa and old Hali Gali Bar. Theres also a Cambio attached to the scooter rental place. Not too bad of a deal with that last day being free. They should always accept your drivers license. I would never give up my passport for a rental. You never know what can happen and if te scooter gets totalled and you dont have the funds you dont want them keeping your passport until your able to straighten it out.
Reminds me of another good story but ill make a new thread because I consider it pretty important.

This is a trip report for my March 07 trip, but here are some more pics of Angela from my December trip. Nice kid, I have come to somewhat trust her. But if you come across her and are married or have a girlfriend at home, keep in mind that she does bite. She can really get into it. Almost chewed my arm off once. I always go home with some bruises, I call her My Little Velciraptor. (you should have seen me explaining to her what a Veciraptor was) She's got a cute giggle too. A little thicker then I usually like, but have gotten attached to her. We usually hook up at least once each trip. We have fun....

I was running around with a new york guy I met at Lou's, he had his brand new unused Sony digital stolen the first nite he was in town. So we drove around los Charimicos snooping at pawn shops. While tooling around los char another bike came flying around the bend and we side swiped, he got hit in the arm, we think with the guys mirror. Bruised up but nothing broke.

This hottie is Maria, guy I was hanging out with picked her up. It was his first trip and I tried to get him to slow down and negotiate a little first but I couldn't help him. She was all over him and he was in love. The next day he said he gave her a 100usd, said it was worth it.

Three years ago Maria worked at Bohen with her younger sister who we referred to as Miss Perfect Body. The girl definitely had a 10 cuerpo with about a 7 cara. The one on the right is Maria (at least thats all I've ever heard), she's worked Classicos, downstairs bar, since at least last September. Maybe longer but that's when I first met her. She is a sweetie...
