Anyone who's on the North Coast this weekend should make their way to Cabarete. It is the annual Semana Santa weekend-long beach party. This is the biggest event of the year for young Dominicans to flock to the beaches of Cabarete for a 3 day party. It's billed here as their big Spring Break party. The beach is crammed with stages, huge tents, International DJ's, bikini contests, volleyball tournaments, extra bars, and everything else that makes this an amazing event. It goes on all day and night - last year it started at Midnight Friday and went non-stop till Sunday afternoon...yes.. the bars never stopped serving...may be different this year due to the liquor curfew...no one I asked last night seemed to know if they will have to stop serving at 2...I doubt it, but remember, the disco at the Casino is open till 5 am!!

People (read CHICAS) from all over the country, but mainly the areas around Santiago come here for the weekend to drink, dance, and, well, whatever comes natural to a hot young chica from the DR. Being Easter week, there are also 100's of hottie tourist chicas along for the ride...as well as many of the area Putas...and soon to be "Semi-Putas".

Having some game..and decent Spanish will definitely help you out here, but even if you dont have either, it's a GREAT time...

Its this weekend, right now its pouring rain, though. No music until midnight tonight and no one seems to know when the music will be shut off, though they shut down at midnight last night. This place is wild right now!

It's on now... the rain stopped early last night, been beautiful since...and already scored my first "free" toto... she just left... after coming over yesterday about 4 in the afternoon...total cost...about 50 pesos for a fruit juice (she didnt want to eat and only ordered juice while I ate dinner)...and a drink at my place. No talk of regalos, rent, babies, momma problems, etc... said she used to own a bar on Sosua beach but closed last year because she wasnt making enough money...

I took some pics yesterday during the "set-up" and planned to get some shots of the action at night..but I was otherwise occupied. Went to the beach today with the same intentions, but unfortunately, at least as of now, it's a wash out...been POURING rain since about 3 pm... if you were here and had a car or a place with a hot shower and a soft bed to offer you could have had a pretty awesome Happy Hour!!! Im so "happy" I have a place with a hot shower and a soft bed ;)
