Negotiating (How much?)

Hey guys,

Last time I went to Santo Domingo (May of 2005), the best quotes I got for a short-term session was 2,000 pesos. For an all-nighter, the best quote I got was 3,000 pesos. They would not go any lower. These were at massage parlors.

I do not like the girls at the casino or at the streets. I prefer girls at the massage parlors.

This was in Santo Domingo. I do not plan on traveling outside of the capital city. The reason is too long to explain.

So it looks like I will be in Santo Domingo. I am Asian and I do not speak a word of Spanish. But I copy-pasted helpful Spanish phrases thanks to you guys!!! Gracias!!! :D

But is 2,000 (ST) and 3,000 (LT) the prices right now? Did any of you get it for cheaper?

They are hurting now. Tourism is down. People are getting fired from the factories. I think 1,000 is a fair price these days.

So a short session is 1,000 pesos and an all-nighter is 2,000 pesos?

If that is the case, then this is what I will do,

I will be very strict. If they say no to 1,000 (ST) and 2,000 (LT), then I will walk out of the door. I will see how they respond.

I am not sure whats going on in the Capital area, but they are heading North to Sosua so times are bad.

I plan to stay for only 4 days in the DR. My friend is getting married in Santo Domingo and I plan to meet another friend of mine as well as my friend's father. So it looks like I am stuck here.

But next time I will head up north and party with all of you. :cool:

Try the bar in Jarragua. Lots of chicas and maybe you can get an allnighter for 1,000 there.

If you go to Remington Palace on Ave Independencia after 12am, you can get a girl for 2000 pesos until the morning. If you go before 12 am, you have to pay 2000 for short term only

I went to many whore houses and massage parlors during both the day and night.

I was unable to get a short-term session for under 2,000 pesos.

I was unable to get an overnight session for under 2,500 pesos. This was after midnight and I was still unable to.

The owners will not negotiate. I even walked out from a few places and they still said no.

These palces were EMTPY!!! NO CUSTOMERS!!!

For example, Casa Teresa wanted 5,000 pesos for an overnight session. This was after midnight but still. So I said forget it. They will not negotiate.

Another example, the Mansion wanted 4,000 pesos for an overnight session. So I said no.

WTF?!?

So instead, I hit on a girl who works at McDonalds. This McDonalds is about a 5-minute drive from the Intercontinental Hotel. I fucked her after three dates. I hope I "SUPER-SIZED HER" :D

Dominican sense of business is whacky. When business is down and there are less customers, many feel they need to charge MORE to make up for lack of business.

Still TLN is available for less than 2500 pesos. Free if ya got game. Heck I can get a chica from Remington for 1300 pesos any time I want. . . .I still don't as service has gone down hill. If I go with my taxi guy he gives me the 700 pesos back. . ..so I pay 1300 pesos. . . .not bad as the quality at RP is pretty good when the service is good.


Remington Palace pays taxi drivers 700 peso commision but does NOT raise the price to the customer. RP eats the 700 pesos and only makes 300 pesos off that customer. They are smart enough to realize the real money is in the drinks.

Think about it, if you get a girl they give 50% to her. . . .I am betting the profit margin on beer and drinks is way better than 50%. Heck at the end Mona Lisa was getting 150 pesos per beer. That beer could be bought . . . . .and was bought. . .at the corner colmado for 35 pesos. If they ordered beer from distributors they would pay maybe 20 pesos per pequena.

Most dominican business owners fail to see that they make more off of liquor sales. I have even had MP owners get mad at me because I would just ang out and drink beer while flirting with the chicas. One woman told me her place was for massages and not for drinking beer. . . .so I never went back. . . I may stop in next trip and see if she has the same dumb attitude. . . .LOL. . .
