Sammy Sosa went long for the 597th time in his career, putting him just three homeruns away from the hallowed 600-homerun mark. Sosa, who is playing for the Texas Rangers, is in the middle of a career resurgence, although his ninth homerun of the season couldn't help his team get the victory over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Sosa also extended his record by hitting a homerun in his 45th different ballpark.
