We reported on this some time ago: the management of Hotel Sosúa Bay had a dispute, which meant that the construction of the new casino (directly opposite the entrance from the hotel) has been stopped for some time. Apparently the conflict has now been resolved and the owner (of the aforementioned hotel and the Merengue Club with d'Classico disco), Mr Armando Casciati has now instructed the builders to finish the new casino.
We spoke to the project supervisor, Mr Pedro, who told us that the casino will be officially opened around October 2007.

The casino will be located on the ground floor; the first floor will contain a ballroom/conference room for parties, wedding receptions and meetings. The second floor will contain luxury apartments, with breathtaking views over Sosúa bay.
A helicopter pad will be built on the roof of the complex. A lot of visitors are expected, including many important guests, such as filmstars, artists and politicians, who all prefer to travel by helicopter. If the construction of the new yacht marina also goes through, then these two projects will provide a significant extra impulse for Sosúa as a tourist destination.

Blah, blah, blah, so the spin begins. (Not you, gmalet, but the one who wrote this stuff)

I can just see a line of helicopters waiting to land and eject their occupants.

Anyone wanna bet it won't be done by October? Who are they kidding?

That's only 4 months away!

Maybe, October of 2008.

*sighs* There's only one kind of people who travel by rooftop private helicoptors....rich PIGS, and it'd be fair to say that these "Important" guests (rich pigs) such as filmstars, artists and politicans, will pay the chicas FAR beyond our standards. And whats going to happen when you have a bunch of these "important" guests in "upgraded" Sosua spoling the putas? A breeded selection of many beautiful putas spoiled by the vast wealth of these people, and all of the ugly putas left to us value shoppers...
The point of this rambling?
Dont be so happy about all of these "new" places opening up, dont be so happy about "reconstruction", dont be happy when the DR gets an economy boost...
Am I the only one that wants to see the DR stay poor, underdeveloped, dirty, uneducated and backwarded so I can get the cheapest chicas?
At least im being honest about it...:D
