CDEEE explains blackouts

State Run Electric Companies (CDEEE) says that the increase in blackouts is due to an increase in demand for power caused by the summer months. The CDEEE also explained that the Itabo II generator, which produces 125 MW of power, is shut down, contributing to the blackouts that are especially noticeable in areas that had been having reliable power service. The plant will be out of service for 15 days due to maintenance.
