Hey guys i am looking for info from anyone who has been to montecriste DR I want to do a mongoring expidition in august for a few days and am considering this location for a great adventure

Nice girls en el campo. you will need a local to take you to most places off the beaten path. The town itself is no place for a tourist, the only thing you can do is stop for a beer at a bar. Do not expect anything like Sosua.

Not much happening in monte criste. I have been there twice. Calle 8 is the main "disco" not exactly hooker central. The music is played LOUDER than any other place I have been in the DR. Hooking up with non pros should not be that hard but speaking spanish would be key. An ex pat told me there were a few "casas" nearby but didn't look like there would be tons of talent etc.

I was there in 1997. I didn't care for it much.
