Labor Minister Jose Ramon Fadul says that the state health insurance plan, the SFS, still faces many challenges that must be resolved before it comes into effect as planned in September. Fadul said that issues that are still on the table include the fees that doctors will charge with the health plan companies (ARS) and the private clinics. Fadul says that those are the three most pressing pending issues, but guaranteed that the SFS will happen as scheduled in September. Enriquillo Matos of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD) denied the SFS was ready as Vice President Rafael Alburquerque has claimed. Quoted in Hoy, Matos said that there are still things that need to be worked out.
