Hey guys :)

I stayed at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante for one night.

My trip was sudden so I went with this hotel. I did not know it was expensive. 8O

I did not make any reservation. I walk up to the front desk and I get a quote of $155 (not including tax or other expenses).

I ask if they accept AAA membership card and she said no.

The hotel is very nice. One whore from Santo Domingo told me that this is the best hotel in Santiago. The lobby is very nice but I do not see anything special about this hotel.

We get a free drink coupon and a $5 coupon we can use for the casino.

The shower is very nice. The water pressure is like a water fall!!!

But the A/C is too cold and too strong. I turned the temperature to around 25 celcius and it was still too cold!!!

The outdoor pool is okay and there is a jacuzzi as well. There is also a health club (a place to work out) and a massage room. But I do not know if this massage room provides extras.

This place is not worth $155.

And I cannot go to this hotel again because of my huge argument with the chica from Illusion at 4 in the morning!!! :x

The Hotel Platino is chica friendly with a fee (RD$400) and Holiday Inn standards but smaller if you got for the basic room. The standard rate is about RD$1500.

Otherwise if you have a car, cabanas are the best.

I stayed at the Hopedela centro near Hotel Platino for about 76 bucks for two nights. It was pretty decent and nobody was there. If the Hotel Colonial is not to your liking you can give it one night if you are in town. But DT is right get a car and a cabana and you are better off

If you are hungry and want free food then go to the casino in this hotel.

Just ask a waitress for a sandwich or another simple meal. It's free. :)

I agree, rent a car and get a cabana, in Santiago. Worked for me.

Good I am just fucking with you. Seriously though the Hodelpa Gran Almirante is a nice place to visit and eat but a HUGE waste of money to stay.

I stayed at the Hodelpa Gran Almirante. I got a corporate rate of $90 plus tax. This was for the standard room which was the cheapest. All you need to do is show proof of your employment and you get the rate.

The address is Avenida Estrella Sadhala, Santiago de los Caballeros
Tel: 809-580-1992
Fax: 809-241-1492
Email: almirante@verizon.net.do

Pros: Clean hotel, strong A/C, nice showers (the water pressure is nice and strong), strong toilet (LOL), nice jacuzzi and pool. If you like gambling, there is a casino inside this hotel.

There is a bartender in the casino name "Angela". Say hi to her for me. LOL ;)

Cons: The price is too high. Thank God it was for only two nights. LOL
