Hey guys, I know y'all noticed I've been MIA for about 2mo. The reason for this is my computer has been having one problem after another. My new problem is apparently my modem is not being read, and I need, from what a friend told me, a network card. Now I'm not computer smart, so I don't know what that is, or what it looks like, or even how to install it. But if someone can help me. That would be really appreciated.
THE KNOTTYHEADED ONE.

Did one of your previous problems cause you to replace your motherboard? If so, you probably just need to reinstall the drivers.
By the way - I only know this because I just had to do the same thing - other than that I know how to turn it on and go to the ISOC site :D

nahh, i had my system rebooted because of all the spyware on it. but my cable modem had a mind of it's own. once the modem was fixed. i was able to be on here for a 1 day, then the next day, it won't read the modem. the modem is fine now, just the network card is not reading it. i'm talking like i know what the hell i'm talking about.

is your computer hooked up to a cable modem via an ethernet cable? If so, is anything else on that network or just the modem?
What system software are you running?
(I just went thru the tourchers of hell redoin my network in my house)

yeah, it's a cable modem via an ethernet cable. my friend thought it was probably the cord, but i switched cords and the same problem continues. the only thing connected is the modem, nothing else.
i know i don't need a new computer because it's working fine. just gotta upgrade it.

definitely been doing alot of that. now trying to find a cheap ticket to brazil in january, but the shit is too expensive. 1400 bucks. i'm not seeing for 1 connection.
You shouldn't go in January...
It's too close to Carnival...
Before November and after March will yield cheaper airfares...
hey Knotty, glad to see your back.
