there is a parking lot that is connected to JFK. After parking there, you can catch a skytrain that will take you to the gate you need. i forget the cost for parking, but it was inexpensive. you can check the jfk site for directions to the parking lot.

Parking rates effective November 1, 2005

There are two kinds of public parking at JFK: Long-Term Parking and Daily Parking in the Central Terminal Area (CTA). Note: Terminal 8/9 Alternate Parking is easily reached by following the "Termianl 8 and 9" signs located on the Van Wyck Expressway. From there, take the free shuttle bus that departs every 15 minutes directly to Terminals 8 and 9. E-ZPass Plus is not available in this lot.

The Long-Term Parking Lot is located at Lefferts Blvd., approximately 4 miles from Terminals 1 through 9.

To reach the Long-Term Parking Lot from the Belt Parkway:
If you are traveling eastbound, take Exit 19, and bear right at the exit towards Lefferts Blvd., and turn right at the first intersection onto Lefferts Blvd. The entrance to the lot is ahead on the right.
If you are traveling westbound, take Exit 18B, turn left at the first traffic light onto Lefferts Blvd., go over the overpass over the Belt Parkway, and the entrance to Long Term Parking will be ahead on your right.
From the JFK Expressway entrance to the airport, follow the Long-Term Parking signs through the Cargo area to Federal Circle, and from there to the Long-Term Parking Lot at Lefferts Blvd.
From the Van Wyck Expressway, take the Federal Circle exit, turn right immediately after you exit and follow signs to Long Term Parking.
The Howard Beach Station AirTrain operates between the Central Terminal Area and Long Term Parking Station A or Station B every 4-8 minutes between 6AM and 11PM, and every 12 minutes between 11PM and 6AM. From Station A or B to the Central Terminal Area takes about 8 minutes. Please allow at least 30 minutes to reach your terminal.

E-ZPass Plus is available in the Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Long-Term Lots.

Parking Rates for the Long-Term Parking Lot are as follows:
First 24 hours
$15 for up to 24 hours
Over First 24 hours
$5 for each 8-hour period or part thereafter

Green, Blue, Orange and Yellow Parking is adjacent to Terminals 1 through 7. Please note that parking is extremely limited in the Orange lot for Terminals 5 and 6. If the Orange lot is full, please park in the parking garage in the Blue Parking area.

Daily Parking
Parking Rates for the CTA Parking Lots (Green, Blue, Yellow, and Orange) are as follows:
$3 for the first half hour or part
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each hour or part thereafter, up to $30 maximum each 24-hour period

There are a limited number of reserved parking spaces designated for use by customers with disabilities. Designated spaces are located in each parking lot near the terminal entrance. (See Airport Accessibility for more information.) Official disabled license plates or other official permits issued by a municipality or state of residence must be prominently displayed in order to park in these reserved spaces. The fee for disabled parkers is listed below.

Rates for Persons with Disabilities:
First 24 Hour Period
$3 for the first half hour or part
$6 up to one hour
$3 for each hour or part thereafter up to $15 maximum
Subsequent Days
$3 for each hour or part up to $15 maximum

Cash (U.S. currency), check (in U.S. currency), MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card are accepted for payment of parking fees.

Lemme throw this one at ya. How about parking in B=port or new London CT and walk on tto the ferry to either Port Jeff or Orient point. Transferr to LIRR to skytrain? If all the schedules aligned that might save you some NYC driving and tolls and stress. There is a bar on the ferry. Its a nice trip

Also, if you only have carry-on . . . Park in New Haven, the CT train is right off I-95. Go to GCT. NYC subway to Jamaica to Skytrain.

The Train to the plane does suck! Skytrain from Jamaica station in queens is the BOMB. Get the 10 trip ticket for $25. Soon you can check your luggage at Jamaica too.

$15 is so out of proportion. I mean you pay 260 to STI, and get a $90 bill at the end of a five night trip for parking your car? :( That doesn't include gas, tolls and probable traffic jams on the Belt or Van Wyck, 2 of the worst roads in NYC IMO.

How much is it?Check the internet for avistar discounts. Just search for "airport parking". Definitely cheaper than $15. Last i checked, LGA was $11 and JFK $13 with the discounts.

Did you check prices from EWR to POP? Don't forget to figure in the extra $80-$90 in cab fare and the hour and a half (each way) ride thru the mountains.

Another thing to consider is the return flight time. An early flight from STI means your last day you do nothing. A 2pm flight out of POP gives you time to eat breakfast and work off some calories with a morning piece of ass.

For me I will never do STI again, unless of course going to STI.

Folks...forget about parking at JFK (It's too much!) you're better off taking the Airtrain from Jamaica which is only $5.00 and it gets you there to the airport in under 10 minutes. Also, taking a cab from Midtown or LGA will costs you at least $25.00 each way. You can take those buses that commute between the airports but it's time consuming. If you're out in Long Island, take the LIRR into Jamaica and switch to the Airtrain at Sutphin Blvd/Archer Ave. It saves you time and money. :) :)

PS---Jetblue got the best prices but do you really want to land at STI after midnight and you still gotta go through all those mountains with those donkeys all over the place.

How about adding to that a nice rain storm half way there only to find out the cab's windshield wipers don't work.

Come on now! Wsj and i have taken one of the mountain roads at least 20 times with no problem. It's actually a pretty pleasant ride. Paved and clear roads with little traffic. And of course, the mountain chicas!

Hell...when I was there last month I actually saw in one area that the whole top of the mountain was lost to a landslide, they were rebuilding the roadways in those area. Also, my cab driver got a flat tire from hitting a deep pothole. They were using these huge chickenwire baskets for roadway foundation and then pave over it, I wouldn't say that is smart. STI will be my last option if I can't get anything into POP, but it's also a good idea if you want to stay to the south of Santiago.

psriches...I love the scenery but it does you no good if you're going north after midnight, what if....what if your car/cab breaks down? Unless you wanna hitch a ride on a donkey, only then you'll be scratching your balls for the rest of your life. :) :)

I think we are talking different roads. The one we take starts behind the airport and goes towards Moca. Newly paved.........

But i do know what you mean about taking these roads after nightfall. Not i....

If arriving after midnight do you still consider the mountain road a safe trip?
