'Grease' director gets 'Lovewrecked' in Dominican Republic

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- Randal Kleiser, director of Grease and The Blue Lagoon, will begin filming a romantic comedy in the Dominican Republic next week.

Amanda Bynes and Chris Carmack will star in Lovewrecked, production supervisor Paul Jaconi Biery said Thursday.

Bynes will play a college student who goes on vacation in the Caribbean. Carmack's character plays in a band and the two meet during a concert at a hotel, Biery said.

Filming, set to begin Monday, will take place around the northern town of Puerto Plata, one of the country's most popular tourist areas. Sets will include theme parks, hotels and beaches, said production assistant Mercedes Rosario.
