Hey guys

I tried to upload more pictures.

But I get this message.....

You already have the max number of images allowed to upload

The maximum number of images allowed for me is 5,000. And I surpassed that.

Can anyone please increase the number of images allowed for me?

Thank you very much!!!

well, the sites image host is a plus, but the pic quality and definition is horrible!!!

so i opened up a photobucket account...i know PB are known to delete nude pics, but are there other sites out there that we can upload too,

but pic definition and quality will still have that glossy, shiny, crisp finish...i was going through some photos that i had uploaded to photo bucket and damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shit was so crisp.

I finally figured out how to upload pictures to VB Image Host and Photo Bucket, but now I can't figure out how to get them bigger, all I can get is the damn thumbnails...

Any pointers from the pros would be appreciated. :)

once uploaded...click on the thumbnail...it will expand...then right click...click copy...paste pic into thread/post

Nope, I right click on the thumbnail, and click copy...then I went to the thread and clicked control+V...that didn't work. So I tried it again, this time instead of control+V, I right clicked again in order to click on paste, but that option isn't available to be clicked??

Very good points Hempstead

I have also tried Tinypic and Photobucket and the nude pics were deleted as well.

I remember back in 2005 and 2006, VB Image Host would produce that shiny, glossy and crisp finish (like you have said). But recently, it is a little blurry. I do not know why.

You first go to "VB Image Host" and then you go to "Upload an image".

Once you uploaded an image, copy that address and then paste it into your post. That's how I do it.

I hope I made sense.

If you notice, most cameras nowadays, with the higher megapixels, take pics in which the file sizes are very large. I think I remember Don Tomas saying that the site software is set to lower the resolution of the pics to make the file size smaller, saving space.

Hey guys

Does anyone besides Don Thomas know how to give me more image space?

I already used up 5,000 of my images.

I do not want to delete my old images because I find them helpful (especially for new members).

Thank you.

Haven't got an answer for you right now Cheeno...you can try opening up a account at ImageShack.....I use them lots, same procedure, they won't mind the food pics. ...and you can get away with the raunchy stuff also, they don't check that close. In the meantime we will have to wait till DT comes back for an answer

Exactly sadly we are not Photobucket with TBs of disk space. People were uploading 2MB+ pics and that is crazy. We would have ran out of space after ~20,000 pics. Cheeno alone would have taken up 1/4 of the space!

You shouldn't change them yourself and upload them full size, otherwise they will be compressed twice since the software compresses all uploads.

PS. As for the shinny & crisp detail, what are you doing printing them out for bathroom jerk material?

Just a quick thought.

Why not have quality pics as opposed to low quality pictures on the board.

I mean you take the time to make additional code for Wikipedia and links to Brazilian terma sites to increase the quality on the board.

Why not put the same emphasis on the picture quality.

Hard Drive Space! Pics that come off of current cameras run about 2-3MB, we would have run out of space long ago. We only have a 50GB drive....

perhaps a dumb question but considering you can now buy a good quality HD in the 500 gig range for under $200 USD
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8294482&type=product&id=1172880157783
why do we only have 50 gigs?

Hard drives like that don't go into servers. Hard Drives in servers are about $3-4 per GB not $0.40-0.50 per GB for home PCs. Also we don't own the server we rent it, so we would pay for an additional HD based on a rental price.

PS. I should have clarified we have 50GB for pics, the drive is actually 73GB total, but OS, database, etc. takes up the rest.

How about setting the max size of an uploaded pic be about 1MB? This will then force everyone to at least lower their camera resolution or use a program to resize the pics but will still keep the quality of the pic fairly intact. Of course, the Photobucket type service will always be there as well.

We tried that and people complained, I guess you can never make everyone happy. Also 1MB is way to high, that's only 50,000 pics, for the record we have 57282 pics right now.

The simple way is to just upload unformatted/uncompressed pictures and let the server compress them, don't complain when you compress them and then upload them, double compression never works well.

As for Photobucket, yes they will always be there but your nude pics on there won't be. :(

I've found that ImageShack seems to be more lenient in terms of nude/semi nude pics. Only one person that I know of has ever had a problem with them.

What about a link to another site (photobucket isn't monger friendly) but there are other sites out there that are.

Image shack and the like will not delete the pictures of monger exploits.

Just offering my advice and experience as a person with years of IT experience.

I can understand the constraints of limited server space but there are other options that still are available to the ISOC community.

Image Shack is pretty 'Chica" friendly, and use them alot...had a problem with them once about a year and a half ago.....all is OK since:wink:

Make a list for me since I have never gotten into uploading nude pics, I have mostly been on the receiving end.

Any others besides Image Shack that are nude friendly?

I will either make easy to access links or maybe even an interface to make it even easier for our users.
