The Police has reported that kidnappers released Nita Sue Rash, who lives with her husband David Rash in Las Galeras, Samana. 12 persons were arrested, according to Diario Libre. Reportedly, the kidnappers had asked for a ransom of US$1 million, that they latter dropped to US$500,000. The woman was abandoned by the Police at 6:30 pm in the place known as Las Cuevas Boca del Diablo, in Las Galeras, when the kidnappers noted their hideout had been discovered. A ransom was not paid.
Diario Libre reports that the Police is accusing Juan Trinidad, who had been deported from the US for drug trafficking; Amado de la Rosa/Julio Laureano de la Rosa (Amadito) and July Perez Reyes (El Bizco) who had relocated in Las Galeras, fleeing from the Police in Puerto Rico.
Sue Rash was kidnapped on Saturday at 2 pm when returning home in an Isuzu pick up. The vehicle was later abandoned in Los Corozos, Samana.
