I didnt get to try very many places so take my opinion as based upon this. I found a few places I liked that didnt get me sick and kind of stuck by them.

Mauri Mai

Located at the far end of Pedro Calisante by the beach.

I ate here for dinner almost every night. The food ranged from lobsters and shrimp to chicken and beef. I generally ate the shrimp in garlic sauce and split the snitzel and chicken marsala with a buddy of mine. Two dinner meals with 1 or 2 drinks tip & tax ran about $40 US. The service is about standard 40 minutes from when they take your order you get your food.
The help isnt very bright and even after ordering the same meal for 4 days they still screwed it up and we noticed them skimping the portions as they saw us showing up more regularly. If the german woman running the place is there all seems to run smooth. Once she was missing for a day or 2 the staff didnt keep up the level of service. The food was the same quality but the portions seemed to get smaller on some items.

La Roca

Across the street from Maura Mai

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE LOCALS MENU or everything it double price!

I only ate here for breakfast once and the food was pretty good. Typical service about 30-40 mins for food to arrive. Breakfast items ranged from $1-$3 each. Nice cheap breakfast if your near there. I will definitely try their dinners next trip as a lot of other people recommended it.

PJs

next to La Roca heading away from the beach. Open 24 hrs. Service slightly slower than the rest 45 mins sometimes for food to arrive even when place is empty. Food was fair. Slightly more expensive than it should be except you have convenience of it being open 24/7. Typical meals can range from $8-$25 depending on what you order. (shrimp being most expensive of course).

Rockys

Off Pedro Calisante near Harrisons Jewelry By the Cowgirl Bar.

Nice cheap breakfast. Takes about 45 mins to show up but its like a $2-$3 breakfast. Internet service available for like $2 on one of their computers also.Food was good. Had dinner there once. Ribs were awesome always get 9! Not very expensive either . Meal was around $10 complete.

more to come....

This last trip...Thanksgiving...the Morua Mai was excellent, and the prices were down from previous trips....the pizza was great

Rockys has a great breakfast and if you bring your laptop, free wireless

And I have to agree the ribs at Rockies are great...

Kevyboy and I ate at a nice reasonably priced restaurant across the street from Dominio's, can't remember the name...Kevyboy help me out here....but it was just your basics, chicken, rice and pork

Also PJ's is not a recommended place to eat......

Yes, I'm absoulutely staying away from PJ's. Think Bayelies is the best place in Sosua. Great food, great service and very reasonable prices.
Orchidee is very good an cheap for pizzas.
