Easy Peso Math
The peso has been pretty stable for a while now at around 32-35 pesos per dollar. So if you are “mathematically challenged” (like I sometimes am!), just remember this simple formula:
100 DR pesos = $3.00 US
Therefore:
10 pesos = 30 cents US
100 pesos = $3.00 US
1000 pesos = $30.00 US
At an exchange rate of 32 pesos per dollar, 1000 pesos actually = $31.25
At an exchange rate of 34 pesos per dollar, 1000 pesos actually = $29.41
So you see the difference is no big deal.
Always haggle and get the best rate you can, but unless you’re an accountant (like JDR!), why sweat the exact calculations on each purchase!
And Jayman, I know it seems like “Monopoly Money”, but it does have value! :D
