Ate at Rockys. I ate the Burger and Fries. Not bad. He has these ribs though. Very good. Come with hash browns but I substituted fries. They come in 3, 6 and 9. GET THE NINE... The night manager is kool too. Bald dude who looks like a biker.

Yeah we liked Ted the bald guy you mentioned. If you need any viagra over that way it seems that a quiet word in Teds ear could produce results!

We ate Breakfast regularly at Rocky's and as a big Fella who likes to eat I would reccomend it to anybody with an appetite for a good breakfast-cheap too!

Ate at Rocky's three times during my recent trip. Great food, good internet service but the food takes a fucking hour and a half to get to you. It's like they order it and have it delivered from Spain! How fucking long does it take to make eggs...............

If that is so I could go for breakfast check email, fix any problems that was in email and still have time to read this site before the food comes. :D

Worked out great for me. I knew beforehand that the food took forever, so I would get lost on the internet. I'd be posting updates here, checking out my fantasy teams and everything else. By the time I was finished, the food was there. Don't go if you're in a hurry to eat or starving to death. You will be pissed!!

I'm pretty sure that people were sitting on the sofa using wireless connections.

The wireless at Rocky's is G only! I confirmed it with him but didn't inquire about why it was G only.

So if you don't have a 802.11g wireless card you are S.O.L.

Rumor had it La Roca was going to install it, didn't check status but the Palace had it too. Of course just scan for one, the chance it is protected is nil.

hey guys -

I know you are all kind of high on this place, BUT I had breakfast here on my first morning in the DR this trip (last week), I had 2 eggs over easy, toast, bacon, coffee - standard breakfast...

About 3 hours later, I was barfing up that same breakfast! Never happened before or after while traveling in the DR.

After thinking about it, I was wondering if the fact that their eggs are NOT pasturized might be the reason???

I di scrambled eggs for the rest of the trip and didn't have any problems, however, I couldn't bring myself to try Rocky's again that trip.

Thats odd. Rocky's was the one place I ate regularly that I never had a problem with. Oh yeah, and the chicken stand across from the Palace.

Following up on RD's comment actually that is how I eat my eggs, over easy, which is rolling the dice since half of it is pratically raw. I never had a problem. One day I had an omelet but the rest was OE.

Dean (the Century 21 real state agent) came to show me some property while I was eating breakfast. He recommended that I get my eggs cooked thoroughly. He got salmonella from runny eggs. It's probably due to the fact that they don't refrigerate the eggs in the DR

I eat Pussy in the DR.
I eat roasted Pork & Chicken from the road side.
I will continue to eat eggs Over Easy.

One thing I won't eat are the oysters sold out of card board boxes on the beach!

Fuck it my stomach can stand up to all sorts of shit. (except cooked tomatoes)

I have had salmonella which after about 4 months I was totally normal again.
I have also had seafood poisoning, worse six months of my life not being able to eat seafood.

funny story about those oysters that the guys sell on the beach...

me and my boy met this girl last March in High Caribe... He says to me you B... that is you... im like aight... She turns around and says what do you mean i am his??? She spoke perfect english.... I was like say werd!!! turns out she was a chic from the Bronx... my friend wound up hooking up with her even though she had a man at home... (whatever happens in DR stays in DR)... anyways the next day we met her sister... she was a lil crazy but she had a nice body... we were all on the beach that day and this bitch calls over the oyster guy... for the record these girls are dominican... they have family there so they must be immune to this shit... so anyways she is eating them one by one like they are popcorn chicken... and im makin faces like that shit is nasty... she asks me if i ever tried one... i said not in a million years.... She says OK ... lets make a deal... you try one and i will go topless... lets just say she counted to 3 and by 2 1/2 i had an oyster in my mouth... i didnt get sick for the record but maybe cause i only had one... either way she took off her top and out came the titties!!! anyways thats my oyster story... anyone ever eat the candy that the lil haitian kids sell? i tried it once...

I ate almost every breakfast at Rocky's, with or without company. Took my time, drank lots of juice and coffee, read a book, watched the chicas come and go. arguably the best, most relaxing anyway, time of day.

There are also multiple, fast, almost free, internet connections and decent food. The dinner menu: lemon chicken or ribs are great!

Not only did the food not make me or anyone else I know sick but it is quiet qnd relaxing enough to ease my hungover self into the day, gracefully.

I could not have said it better. Most guys don't realise that they are on vacation and in Republica Dominicana. Relax, you're not in the rat race anymore, take your time, have a look at the bartender and others chicas, smoke a couples of cigs, etc... Just relax....

PS: I eat there about 30 times and never had any problem. One trick : drink a lot of ron, it kills all the nasty microbs!

Anyway, for me, the waiting is a very good thing.
