Casa Valerria http://www.casavaleria.tk/
Casa Cayena http://www.hotelcasacayena.com/

Anyone know if either are chica friendly. I sent email to both places asking if guests were permitted. Right now I am waiting for a reply, Dominican style.

Casa Valeria is located across the street from Rockys about 50 meters north. From the outside it appears to be a nice small clean hotel. It is in a good location if you like to hit the clubs at night.

Casa Cayena is located about 100 meters south (coming closer to town) of the Waterfront. From the outside it gives the impression it is a well run establishment. The room prices aren't cheap, but they throw in a free breakfast.

If, and when I get a reply I will post the response.

Why do hotel reservations and information move so slow in the DR.

Let's make a list of chica friendly hotels in Sosua. The criteria will be they must be a safe walking distance to Classico, Club X area.

Europa
Club Residencial
Rockys
Palace (never stayed there, but I am not too sure about that dark street)
Waterfront (some would put this in the group with the Palace)

Any more???????

Calypso, new one on me. Where is it?

Romanoff, I read that place was run down. Don't know if it is true or not.

the otherside of the europa...can't think of the name,,,,,,do you mean Europa's Guest House

voramar........had reservations there on my last trip.......it is out in the moon docks,,,,,,,,so I made a last minute switch to the Waterfront, sure glad I did

Don Andreas, I didn't know it was chica friendly. It looks like a nice place.

Now I think I know which one you are talking about. As you face Europa it is to the right. I think it is an Apart Hotel.

Maybe not as good as the Europa. I gotta laugh. I have been called picky, and it is probably true. I ain't high strung, I just like a nice place to lay my head. I would set the Europa as my bare minimum standard. Just me, I go for the putas but also consider it a vacation.

Make that my brown sock, I am still looking for the other one. LOL I remember reading a few posts on this board that the place had fallen into disrepair. I think the posts were well over a year old though. Maybe they fixed the place up. I walked past the place a few times but never bothered to stick my head inside. For me it is just heresay.

This is a reply I received from Hotel Don Andres. Looks like a place we can safely add to the chica friendly hotel list. From what I remember it is a few blocks from the strip and there are usually motos close by at all times. I might give it a try next week. I am allways looking for somewhere new. It makes the trip different each time.

I sent another email requesting rates for the 2 bedroom units. The website clearly states the 2 person rooms are small. My thinking, if a website tells you in advance the rooms are small,,,,,,,You Better Believe they are Small.

One of the best places I stayed was One Ocean. Too bad they changed ownership and are no longer chica friendly. Last time I stayed there it was only $25 a night for a 2 room unit with cooking. I only stayed one night because that is when I found out,,,,,,,,no putas!!!!

I received a reply from Don Andres, the 2 bedroom unit is $40 a night. That doesn't seem like a bad deal. A room for sleeping and a room for whatever, plus frig and cooking.

I may give it a try. If I don't like it, I pack and move after the first night.

Club Residencial is always my number one choice. Hell, they no me by first name when I walk in. Only problem for my trip next week is availability. I made a last minute decision to go back to the DR. Sat at the pc one night, clicked on Continental.com and bought a ticket for 14 days away. Right now Club R has me on a waiting list for cancellations. I need a backup plan.

My trip after this one will be planned in advance and I want to try the Palms from ErikS advice.

If no luck with Club R, hopefully I can get something at the Waterfront as a walk in. If I don't get a room I can always hide my luggage in the bushes somewhere, get drunk and pass out at the bar for a nights sleep.

The Romanoff isn't Europa (only because the bed and shower are smaller). It has everything else. If you were interested in Valeria, then Romanoff is ideal. It's off the strip, but still close enough to all of the good places by foot. It's CHICA FRIENDLY!! Bring as many as you want!! Plus it's about half the price of Europa. $25-30 for a room WITH the coldest A/C and the clearest television reception I've seen in Sosua. If you don't want A/C or tv, you can get a room for $15 (last year's prices). Nice and quiet with a great pool. It doesn't get much play here because it's mostly a European hangout. I have pics somewhere.

Yeah, Kevyboy and I had a look at one of the rooms there at the Romanoff the other week, I thought it looked pretty good. It was about three floors up, really nice balcony and view and 28 dollars a night. I'm going to seriously consider that place next trip.;)

It's definitely ideal for privacy, and also for some new chicas when you get tired of seeing the same ones all the time. The hotel bar, the one across the street, and the ones around the corner usually have chicas I've never or rarely seen.

I also stayed at the Romanoff for 1 night after my accident in December. It wasn't bad. I think I paid 700 pesos for each room. I think the ex rate was about 32.5-1 at the time.

Casa Cayena IS CHICA FRIENDLY!!!!!!!!

Below is a reply I received from Casa Cayena regarding "guests" (e.g. chicas, putas)

Thanks for asking for information.
For your question, the answer is yes.
Guests are allowed if you pay the double rate.
They just have to show some ID in the front desk before passing to the room.
The double rate only includes one more person.

We hope to see you soon.

Again thanks for asking and your reservation it's made.

Marco of Rockys posted on DR1 that Casa Valeria is chica friendly. As of this posting I have not received a reply to my email I sent to Casa Valeria.

This is the reply from Casa Valeria:

I have a studio available for 35$US/night for 2 peoples.
If you have more guests, they have to rent other rooms because in every room could sleep 2 peoples max.
For further information please write directly to the hotel E-mail adress: casavaleriasosua@yahoo.com
Best regards,
Maria

I guess that translates to mean they are chica friendly, but no happy hour.

Additional Chica Friendly Hotels:

Per Night
Casa Valeria $35
Don Andres $35-$40
Casa Cayena $70, breakfast included

All three have a clean working pool.

Casa Cayena has a $25pp package special which includes 3 meals a day and all the booze you can drink.
