Plenty of good info on the Romanoff in the Hotel section. Like getting extra towels on Saturday because they may or may not clean the room on Sunday.

You joking, right?

I know some hotels only change the bed linen every other day but I would hope they would at least clean the room every day.

If you are going to stay at the Romanoff ask them to put you in the building to the right of the reception area as you face the hotel from the street.

I have stayed there 6+ times and up until the last trip it was always in the building behind the reception area where you have to walk around back through their little garden area to get to the room. This last time they put me and my friends in the building to the right of the reception area where you have to walk through a glass door the get upstairs.

The rooms are nicer and a little larger.

At this stage in our Sosua mongering, we always stay at a "scarface" mansion off campus for the privacy. But when i'm traveling to Sosua alone, it's always the Romanoff. It's the best value for mongers that want to be near the campus but not ON the campus. It's located down a side street within walking distance of everthing Sosua................

I took a quick look at Romanoff on my last trip, but a "scarface mansion" sounds quite interesting!

Just ask for extra towels and linen on Saturday, and you'll be okay. Just remember that you have to make your own bed on Sunday!

Thanks for the intel, Magnum! I'm just seeing this and had no idea about the different rooms. The other side probably has bigger showers as well!

I stayed at the Romanoff for part of my trip. The one gripe you could say about the place is that, to me, the mattresses are very VERY firm. If you're used to box springs, you may find these uncomfortable.

I guess it's a trade off. Either you get A/C or a big shower. I'm salivating over that big shower. I'm back in D-2, with the same tiny shower. But I'm good and cool!!

The main thing about the Romanoff is the location. I love the fact that it's off the strip.....

Perfect location. A couple of blocks away from the main strip. And most chicas STILL don't know where it is. Beautiful!

If so, is there any extra charge for the second girl?

It is in Casa Linda, east of Sosua. Some of the guys here rent it.

Back to te Romanoff, what is up with the night guard stories of shaking down the chicas. I was considering it, but don't need that.

And about the Romanoff; i'm sure that security guard won't be around for too long. I was kind of turned off by the ordeal but it still remains the best bang for the buck. That's if you're staying alone for a few days and want "off the strip" budget.

It's true. The guard wanted 100 peso propina from me even though the chica had her cedula. Then after I was done and the chica left and I left to go out afterwards, he still kept pestering me for a tip. Very annoying.

You want "off the strip" budget? Try Hotel Waterfront, the cleanest, neatest, cheapest place going. Bad news no TV, but the place is n i c e, real nice.

Dick, did you give him anything or did you take any other action? What happens if you don't give him anything? If you report him to the management, does he lose his job then have plenty of time to come after you?

Does anyone know whether this practice still continues?
