My visit to "Cristals Mustang Ranch Resort".
This is not a self-serving report because it gives me no benefits. After visiting my old “Field of Dreams Inn” today I was very impressed with the improvements Leno has made. I would love to have him default on his mortgage payments and I’d get the hotel back with all those additions.
I went out there because Leno was having a problem with the water supply. A "dune buggy" neighbor who had given me problems in the past with his stealing my “paid for” water supply had cut the line to the hotel cistern. Leno will have more success dealing with this bandit than I had for sure.
Leno has added a reception area with computers for guest use, a larger air-conditioned restaurant, made my apartment into a luxury two bedroom suite with a 60”television (would love to live there now), a sauna, a large poolside bar with projection tv for sporting events and two new luxury suites. He has a chef on site (I don’t think my cooking was all that bad) with an extended menu.
He has three plans for accommodations, first is room only at $50.00 per night (same as my rates), second a MAP at $90.00 per person (all meals and local drinks) and third a full exotic vacation at $179.00 per night.
When I opened I had some detractors write that I was in the middle of nowhere. Not true as the location is 2 minutes away from 3 casinos, Mangu Disco and the golf course, 12 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from Cristals and 20 minutes from Sosua if you want to bring back your catch of the day from there.
I’ll go back there in the next day or so to take some photos to post here.
It’s wonderful what you can do when you have a large budget and staff to do the work for you.

Hi Billy,
JD-Mine, ElDrunko and myself made a visit there back in Sept (I believe I commented on it in my TR#24).
Here are a couple of pictures.

Hey Billy;
You didn't say anything about the girls. What's the story with the girls there?
Are there even girls there?
Come on.... Give.

The place did look VERY nice when we stopped in, I was amazed at the work he has done. We(well, not me but Eric and JD as I don't speak spanish) asked alot of questions and we recieved all the right answers. The lady in the house basicly told us do what you want, strip the chicas down, dress em up, they couldn't care less.
In fact we touched on the subject of getting a group in and renting the whole place out for a weekend bash. It really does look nice.

I won't be planning this anytime in the future as I've moved on to bigger and better countries. With that being said, if ya wanna take over the Metro Apartments on Soi LK Metro, I'm all in

I fear ErikS loses his bearings once off his familiar Sosúa turf and has confused Field of Dreams with some other hotel. I stayed there for two weeks, and then eleven weeks, in 2006, and another four weeks this year. I never saw any cranky old Englishmen in long-term residence and I am sure if there had been any such at other times Billy would have mentioned it to me during our many conversations.

Thanks for the update Billy. Not my scene personally but the prices, especially the basic room price, seem surprisingly competitive for those who like that sort of thing, someone who likes Blackbeards but wants a change to somewhere less claustrophobic.
The location is great. Cheap fast transport to Sosúa and Puerto Plata only minutes from your door, and Muńoz only ten minutes walk away!
The first time I stayed I suffered from a cockerel which crowed every hour throughout the night. (English chickens keep quiet at night). But I didn't notice him on my later stays. Either some rice and beans had made him an offer he couldn't refuse or I had become dominicanized and used to it.
Mosquitoes can be a real problem there with the surrounding vegetation and stagnant water nearby. They came and went in phases. I imagine they will be less of a problem in Billy's new place on the hillside in the mountain breeze.
He has a chef on site (I don’t think my cooking was all that bad) with an extended menu.
I don't think he could improve on the quality of your and your staff's cooking but the extended menu sounds good. I sometimes went out to eat just for a change, but to be fair most guys only stay for a week or less and for them the menu was sufficiently varied.
It’s wonderful what you can do when you have a large budget and staff to do the work for you.
Why did you need a large staff? You had Pillin the human dynamo!

As far as the chicas are concerned. There are no chicas hanging around looking for a free drink or meal. Leno has a shuttle service to the Cristals location and you can pick from a big selection. Depending on how good a bargainer you are you can get a chica from 2000 to 3000 pesos for all night. There is no set price.
As I said before you can also go to Sosua looking for your catch of the day and bring her back. When you pay for room only you then have to buy food and beverages at the bar or restaurant. The rooms still have the bar refrigerators so you can stock up and drink your own drinks as long as you don't take the drinks to the public areas.
The only time I had problems at the "Field of Dreams" was when a group came in with lots more chicas than guys. They, the chicas, where always looking to order food and drinks on some guys tab who was too polite or didn't know the ropes well enough to say NO!!! That is why I didn't like chicas hanging around who were not invited.

I stop by the place in November the price of a president was 150 peso . The $90.00 per person (all meals and local drinks) price did not include president beer that was considered a premium bear the meals at the $90 dollar rate was also limited .Billy if I thing have changed that would be a good thing .

Presidente is a premium beer in the DR?
Thats like calling Budweiser the premium beer of the US.
Just another excuse to overcharge.
Its good people actually try to do as much research as possible for all these hidden charges so they wont be hidden for anyone who does the research here first.
So for the $90 all inclusive rate you don't get the national beer and get a very limited menu and no chicas.
Does he at least wave the salida from Crystals and let you negotiate your own rates for his girls?
I hope hes not actually expecting to make any money on this establishment because it looks so far like hes not destined to compete with Blackbeards for the adult AI crowd and he definitely cant compete with the crowd who goes for the non AI packages.
But hey if you have to spend your money on something and know its going to fail why not open a place like this for when your friends come to town and want to have a nice private party?

Not of particular interest to me (so long as he considers agua a local drink!) but which branded beer is significantly cheaper than Presidente? I would think the saving to him would be so small he would not want to bother with withholding it.

I don't think there would be any problem with the menu if he has maintained Billy's standard and enlarged the choice. And you would not expect to him to include accommodation, drinks, meals and a chica for $90. Be reasonable, young Beads!
Does he at least wave the salida from Crystals and let you negotiate your own rates for his girls?
Good question about the salida. I would guess it still applies but perhaps at a "special customer" rate of RD$500 or RD$700. Anyone know?

I don't understand this comment. Since when did Blackbeards offer an AI package? He is offering a better location and ambience and a wider selection of (on the average) better-looking chicas. They are more expensive but still well within the budget of many First World and rich Dominican customers. And he isn't trying to compete for the old Palace/Europa crowd. Or for cheap Charlies like me!
I am sure there is an ample market for what he is offering but his problem is advertising and making it known. Leno obviously knows his way through the Dominican maze (as in the example Billy quoted) but does he know how to work the sex travel media and websites and build a reputation there?

I dont understand why he doesnt offer Presidente included but apparently he feels charging 150RD is going to work for him. Good luck with that sounds more like your paying Crystals price for a Presidente in your hotel!

I didn't suggest including the chica but having a very limited menu isn't going to make guests happy.A lot of people want some variety if they are eating in the same place 5-7 days in a row.

Your correct Blackbeards is not an AI everything is a la carte. As far as offering better selection of chicas I dont see any difference if he still has the same salida for Mustang Ranch customers as everyone else. Theres no savings there so why stay at his place?

This we shall have to see. Without making some changes though he will have a difficult time competing with Blackbeards.

Hello Fellas. I just booked a flight to POP for a long weekend (Thurs. afternoon through Monday afternoon) during the second week of Feb. (7 - 11). I originally planned to go to BB and the end of Feb. but they were full so I scooped up the earlier date. Here's the rub... I visited the DR way back in the earlier 90s with my parents and family but, obviously, did no mongering. I'm looking to get my feet wet and the "fish in a barrel" setup seems like a good starting point. Having said that my question is this... I want to experience a taste of Sousa, especially LaPassion's as the vets on this board attest that Peter's joint is off the hinges. I also think that a night at Mustang ranch would be cool as it includes a Cristal's chica. Lastly, given that this trip is a "sampler", I was thinking that a night at New Garden might also serve well as you vets testify to it's reliability and central location. What do you guys think, am I being to ambitious. Should I just spend the whole trip at BBs or MR? In the event that you think my game plan IS feasible, let me know how you think that I should arrange/stagger it. Thanks people

I'd never try to tell anyone what to do, but I will say that ... on my trip I did the sampler method ... BB's and NG (including La Passions of course) and I had the time of my life!!!
Next trip will be broke up between BB's and Sosua as well. Too much of anywhere or anyone gets old quick for me ... variety is the spice of life!!!IMHO!
I really doubt you can have a bad trip with any, or all of the options you listed!!!

Just my opinion, but for a short four night trip like that, I would pick one place and stay there for the duration.
You'll find plenty of attractions and diversions to keep you occupied at any of the places you've mentioned.
FYI, my first two trips to the DR were at Blackbeards (for 4 night and 3 night "weekenders").
For trip #3 I had 8 nights.
First two at Rockys in Sosua.
Then two more down the street at the Hotel Europa.
Then in a taxi to Costambar for two nights at Blackbeards.
And finally two nights in the just opened Field of Dreams hotel in POP (I was the first one to ever stay in "Cuarto #8").
But in retrospect, that was too much moving around in too short a time period.
Are you planning future "weekender" trips to the DR? If so, I would focus on one place for each of your trips. IMHO, it takes a couple of days to really get a feel for each place.
Enjoy your trip.

OK, I'm a newbie here. I booked into Cristal's Mustang Ranch Resort prior to finding this forum. Oh well, I'm looking forward to it. If the sun is out, the pool clean and the "scenery" worth pursuing I'll be a happy boy. I'll be there Jan. 11-19th, and I'll let you know what I think when I return.
Perhaps I'll even post from there if the internet is reliable and convenient.

Sounds good. Hey maybe you can make some minor changes like tell them you want to only try the all-inclusive the first day and don't pay for it the rest of the days unless its worth it. This way your only paying $50 a day for the room.
Also remember you can catch a guagua (minivan used for public transportation) right outside the place which will take you to Sosua cheaply.
We definitely want to hear about the place.

You certainly can. It's about RD$25 (about 75 cents US) one way. But you can also take publicos (shared taxis) for RD$35, much quicker, and ten of them come along for every one guagua. They look like this (with the indicator on the roof lit-up at night). This was taken outside Cristal Mustang (as it now is) with the chica heading back to Sosúa. Cab fare does not include the chica, but you could find yourself with one on your lap if the cab is crowded. Or maybe a sweaty 200lb Haitian just off shift from a building site. It's all good! So if you are a big guy you may want to pay for two seats and sit up front. The extra dollar is still a lot cheaper than a private taxi.

I am clueless about cameras, but psychologically I think the compacts are less intimidating to the chicas. Illogical, I agree, but we are talking about females here so logic doesn't come into it.
Also once you are off campus a compact is less likely to attract attention from thieves or even get damaged accidentally. And if your main interest is uploading pics online or emailing them to you friends a compact digital gives amply good quality.
I recommend you carry your camera about in a ladies handbag like me. You will get chicas approaching you and asking for it as a present and it will earn you greater credibility among ISOC colleagues. Kevy especially will be impressed:

You only need phone numbers if you want to commission one for your sole use to take you somewhere off their usual route. But if you are going from Sosúa back to Cristal Mustang just walk 100 yards from Clasico to the taxi terminus at La Bomba (Texaco filling station) and get into the first waiting publico. If you don't want to wait for it to fill up, or you want more comfort, just "buy" the remaining empty seats and tell the driver "Vámonos!". Still cheaper than a private taxi.
By the way, they cost a bit more at night, say RD$45 instead of RD$35, but I forget what is the magic hour (maybe after 10.00pm?). Anybody know?
If you want an honest private taxi driver, I recommend Victor of Techi-Taxi
809 761 4032
but, as Beads says, if you can find a publico driver based near Cristal Mustang he could be even cheaper.
With all taxistas, including Victor, ascertain the price first! Used to be RD$150 from Cristal Mustang to Puerto Plata or $500 from Cristal Mustang to Sosúa but it may have gone up since March because gas costs more and he bought a posh new cab.

I've had three Sony's and liked all of them.
Two buddies, both members, have had issues with their Casios, especially the displays going bad.
One took his into the pool, which never helps, but the other just had problems and decided to finally invest in a Canon.
He seems to like it.
You can get some really nice shots with the compacts if you take a little time with them.
The photos will Certainly be good enough to post.
the only issue i had with Canon, and the reason i choose Casio, is for the video format/codec
Casio uses mp4 avi and it is very compact yet high quality. i had a 3mp canon and loved it but moved to a Casio for the video. have had a 6mp and 7mp Casio.
the overall quality of mode smaller digital cameras, regardless of branding, is now so high that with a minimum of research you can find something excellent within almost any given price range.

OK, I give!! I will NOT discard all of this advice. Honestly, I'm a bit of a camera snob...I like to take photographs, not snapshots. Many of my captures have been published, and even more hang on my walls (apparently I think I'm better at this than others). Nevertheless, with safety and the cost of replacing my equipment in mind, I'll borrow my son's cheap little pocket camera. It'll be good enough for posting here, anyway.
Thanks for the news. Though unwelcome I will head it.

They presumably still have room safes at Cristal Mustang so there is no reason why you cannot take both, your posh camera for photos within the confines of CM if that would enhance your holiday enjoyment and a compact for carrying when off campus. (I personally take as little of value to worry about on my trips as I can, but then I am not a photography enthusiast).
Re: room safes. If they still have the safes which Dominican Billy installed when it was Field of Dreams I recommend you take a good-quality four-digit combination padlock with you (cost about $20 in the UK so probably cheaper in the US). No problem then about losing your key or wondering if the staff have duplicate keys. This solution only works if you don't get so drunk you cannot remember the combination.
If you are thinking of nude pics in your room at Cristal Mustang (as we all hope you are! :)), one problem is that the path runs near the front window and passers-by can easily see in which obviously deters the girls from posing. Mr Happy suggested to me draping a white sheet over the window, which would also minimise shadows from the window bars.

What? No draperies? I'm a afficionado of ladies, rarely a voyeur, but never an exhibitionist. This could be a severe problem for me.
That being said, I doubt if many girls, even in DR, would pose for nudes, lest they find themselves on embarrassing public billboards or condom wrappers. It is not my intention to shoot the girls in poses I cannot show to my son unless they insist (and I hope they do).
Still, if any of you can recommend pretty photo-willing ladies who are also fun between the sheets, maybe I'll just try to order them in for our mutual pleasure. (I have no idea if I can even do that yet). I'm no longer even in my 40s anymore, so room service is not such a bad thing, especially with a good referral.

If you want photos or video just tell them beforehand. If they say no just get a different chica. Theres a virtually unlimited supply of them! If you take the time to go look you will find one you like who is willing to do what you want for the going rate.

Hopefully, if you're going to be stuck so far away from things, unlike when you're staying in Sosua, they would have the decency to provide a computer with internet.
Having to schlepp into Puerto Plata for that each day would be a drag.

I haven't been to Field of Dreams since it became Cristal Mustang, but I am sure it still has opaque drapes so you will have no privacy concerns. One downside with the Field of Dreams rooms was they were very gloomy, even after Billy put in stronger light-bulbs at my request. Most Dominican rooms are. And darker than desirable for photography, necessitating flash when the drapes are drawn. Mr Happy suggests replacing the drapes with a bed sheet to give more, and softer, light.
If chicas don't agree to nude photography, I don't employ them because, as Beads says, the majority will allow it. If you want to take nude pics, make sure it is clearly agreed up front that her price includes this and that the chica does not try to charge you extra later. Sometimes they will still welch on the deal totally, or partially by restricting you to only a few pics, or only to "tasteful" pics, and you could think about witholding part payment, but if they were otherwise satisfactory I didn't usually make an issue of it, just a mental note not to take them again.
Hopefully, if you're going to be stuck so far away from things, unlike when you're staying in Sosua, they would have the decency to provide a computer with internet. Having to schlepp into Puerto Plata for that each day would be a drag.
Cristal Mustang has free internet access in a dedicated area. If there is a queue (unlikely) or it's unavailable for any reason there are internet cafés a few minutes away on the road into PP.

Can anyone confirm what this means?

They advertised that they supplied chicas before. Initially, I think it's the only way they did things. It's probably that. It sort of connects.
If I'm not mistaken, isn't $80 the chica for ST "sucker" rate at Cristals?
I've never paid that, and never would, but I'm sure the same kind of guy that uses the other Dominican services we've all seen advertised, would.

OK, gentlemen (and ladies, if any). I promised a review, and here it is.
I'm just back from a week at Cristal's Mustang Ranch. As advertised, a cab and driver was waiting for me at the airport and drove me to the resort. He was assigned to me for my entire stay. All my trips between Cristal's club (it's not just a nightclub as they have ladies at the pool during the day) was paid by the Ranch. If I wanted to go elsewhere, I would arrange it privately with my driver.
My overall experience was much better than I anticipated. In fact, I didn't get a chance to make it to Sosua to meet some other members who graciously gave me their number. That will now have to wait for my next trip. Yes, I'm addicted to the D.R. and I'll be going back.
The rooms were small but clean. The service was excellent. Every day my room was made up promptly and towel sculptures left on the bed, sometimes even with flowers. The restaurant just received a new menu and the food was very good. The chef has adjusted it for North American tastes, and I found it to be delicious.
The atmosphere was amazing. Everyone knows you go there for casual sex with a bunch of girls. They are not judgemental, but even encouraging. I was a little embarrassed upon arrival but quickly got over that when everyone was encouraging. For the first few nights I was the only guest so I got to know the staff pretty well. We would attempt to talk for hours using my laptop as a translator. Everyone tries to speak a little English, but some are far better at it than others. I just relaxed by the pool, drank and ate to my heart's content. When I tired of reading I would call my driver and head down to Cristal's to select a girl. Over the week I lost count, and I even brought a couple non-Cristals girls back to the hotel too. There was no problem, and no questions with that.
I primarily drink rum, and the Cuba Libras were very good and included at no extra charge so I was quite happy. They also included Bohemia beer. It tasted fine to me, and since Presidente was extra charge I stuck with Bohemia. The girls rather like to be treated to Baileys Irish Cream, and I quickly had my driver take me to the supermarket to pick up my own bottle which I kept in my room. Clearly if you are nice to the ladies they repay you in spades. All seemed clean and all definitely looked after themselves. North American women, for the most part, have much to learn and should be ashamed in that department.
I talked to Lino (the owner) at length while staying there. He is truly trying to offer a worry-free fun time to his customers and genuinely solicited feedback and suggestions on how to make the experience better. I had a couple of problems with my room. The lock broke so I couldn't get back in to the first room. They moved me right away to another room with no hot water. So then they upgraded me to the two-bedroom suite with the big projection TV. Sweet. It was a payback for my inconvenience and no extra charge. Every room has a tv with satellite, air conditioning and a combination safe. Only the manager, Nancy, can get into the safe to allow you to set your password, and I truly grew to trust her. She was very helpful all week, as were all the staff. I grew quite fond of a very smart girl who worked the front desk with Nancy. Bored of all the girls, I took her out for lunch one day...with her father driving. It was a nice change to go on a normal date. This newbie definately learned how to overindulge.
Now the reason I didn't make it to Sosua was that on Monday a fellow Canadian form my home province arrived. We both picked out girls and had a fun party, including playing in the pool and trying out the new Sauna. I must say that a 4-hour ticket is just about right. Lots of time for the nasty, a couple hours of fun, and a repeat. We always gave the girls 200-300 pesos for cab fare home as we just didn't want to bother going with them. I suspect most of them pocketed the money and took the moto-concho. I don't care.
And then more guys came. Well, the evenings became a hoot. Sitting around the bar with beautiful girls of every type hanging around their guys, drinking, laughing, playing darts and pool. It was like being at a playboy mansion party. What a hoot!!! Every so often some couples would disappear and others would come back from their room. And nobody cared, it was such a free and easy atmosphere. And I was having a ball, even if the girls were "pros" from Cristals. Actually, maybe because of that. They knew each other, and they knew what they need to do to be picked again tomorrow. So it was a very friendly, attention-packed party all around.
Now Cristals itself was a bit of a shock the first time I went, as I was immediately assaulted by a dozen scantily-clad but beautiful women of every colour and description. But they escorted me behind a chain beyond which the girls were only allowed if invited. On subsequent visits I stayed at the bar and watched before making my selection. Clearly some girls were far more to my taste than others, and some performed far better than others back at the room. But overall, each earned their "ticket". Two of them deserved encore engagements. In particular one was a professional masseuse as well. When she left I could hardly walk I was so relaxed. What a way to go. Lino is proud of the fact he brings his own doctor in to test his girls every 45 days, and all seemed clean. Nevertheless, you never know about the guy yesterday, so bring condoms.
I bought several additional tickets just because I was enjoying the parties in the evening. It was great. I think they cost about 2200 pesos for 4 hours, including salida and my taxi ride to and back from Cristal's. You can also keep a girl for longer by offering two tickets for overnight or simple cash if you prefer. I soon discovered that was silly, though. Why settle for one girl (who must eventually sleep), when you can have many. Besides, there's only so much fun this 50-something guy can have in a single day.
Now if you are going to spend a longer time, you can go for just the room, or the room, food and bar and buy tickets for the girls a-la-carte (It's cheaper overall than paying for taxi, salida and the girl). But if your time is limited and you just want to go with your buddies to have some fun, then I can highly recommend this place on the all-inclusive package. You may pay a little extra for the "all-inclusive" nature, but for me it was a vacation. I was treated very well. I had a selection of girls like I've not seen before and who, frankly, treated me in ways (all relatively safe) I've not been treated before. I still have "Si, Papi, Si, Papi" ringing in my ears as I imagine the Cheshire grin that must have been on my face. The food was great (they added beef and a lot of pasta to the new menu half way through my stay). Everybody knew my name and greeted me enthusiastically. Though they couldn't pronounce mine properly, I suspect I screwed up their names too.
In short, this was a fun adventure and I'd do it again. But take a buddy along as the fun really starts when there's a group of like-minded mongerers partying at Cristals.
I don't have pictures, as the ones on Lino's website are completely acccurate and my borrowed camera did not work well in low light in the rooms. They just finished adding two new junior suites and I would highly recommend them for the extra $20 / night. Just remember, this is not a 5 star vacation getaway. But neither is it a 5 star expense, and the girls and lifestyle are not just tolerated, but expected. It made things very fun.
I wish I had other experiences, but this is my first "single" vacation. There may be better ways out there, there are certainly worse. I can only say I am entirely satisfied with my week.

Terrierist, thanks for reporting back and I am so glad you had a great time. As I suspected and despite some of the prejudiced comments here, while this may not suit everybody, it is a good package for someone who is willing to spend a little more (and I do mean a little more) to enjoy a trouble-free and comfortable time. It would certainly appeal to me over Blackbeards, which is the nearest comparison, and I am by no means a Blackbeards hater like some here. No, I wouldn't do it because I like rooting around in odd places for hopefully fresh (and perhaps also "odd") chicas, but I will now recommend it to others whose time is more valuable than mine (not difficult) and want the all-in experience. The only thing is that you say "for the first few nights I was the only guest". If that is the case, how long will it survive?

Well, Lino is still pumping a lot of money into the place. WiFi, new hot water system, two new suites, etc. He is losing money now, but he feels that if he does a good job, people will come. They are heavily booked in February, and were full Thursday through the weekend, so it isn't that bad.

I have now promised myself to take Spanish lessons. But for an English-only speaking person, and with the alternative being a stale and uptight AI, this was a great experience at a significantly lower price. You are right, Guttaman, this will NOT be my last trip. I am seriously addicted to the D.R. Next time I want to meet up with some of you in Sosua or maybe Cabarette, but I am very content with the my experience and its relative value. I would do it again.
Yet still I wonder what the free-range Chicas of Sosua would have been like, compared to the farmed variety at Cristal's. I guess that's why I just have to go back.

Terrierist, great trip report!
To summarize (and please correct me where I am wrong), the $175US included 3 meals a day (buffet style??), room, transportation to/and from Crystals, unlimited drinks (rum, Bohemia, and non-alchoholic) , and 4 hours with a Crystals chica.
I have a few questions. First did you have to pay for food and drinks for the chicas, or was that included in the price. Second, what time did the bar close. Third, was the pool area clothing optional?

Yes, your summary is correct.
For $175 / day, you got three meals, each from with a different menu. There is no buffet. These are sit-down order-from-the-menu made-to-order meals. Often I had my meals outside at the bar rather than in the dining room. I sometimes just ordered what I wanted, and even if it was not on the menu the staff were eager to please. I was never charged extra for food.
You also got to choose from dozens of unlimited drinks on the "all-inclusive" menu, from bottled water to orange juice to coca-cola to beer, to wine (not recommended, as I am a bit of a wine bigot), to highballs, to mixed drinks I didn't recognize. Specialty drinks like liqueurs and Presidente are often (but not always) extra charge. The bar is open from 10:00am until midnight. When we were partying, however, we often ordered up a few extra just prior to midnight which took us as long as we wanted.
Drinks and meals for the girls are NOT included. If you find a chica you really like, you can get her unlimited drinks and meals for 24 hours for an additional $50.00. This allows here to order from the all-inclusive menu. Frankly, I was like a kid in a candy store. I never kept a chica that long. If she was good to me, I'd buy her a meal, and then take her for an encore within the 4 hours. The girls are always hungry...it seems to be part of their ploy. But I considered buying them a meal to be a tip for good service.
There seemed to be no regulations as per clothing at the pool. It is, after all, an adults-only club. But although the girls were constantly losing their tops, guests' and the girl's bottoms stayed on. The guys and the girls were not into complete exhibitionism while I was there. Frankly, I saw enough. There were always pretty titties being proferred to some lucky gentleman's lips during the party times. I suspect that complete nudity of guests would not be well accepted by many of the other guests. But YMMV. The staff never seemed to blink at our antics, though we were not disrepectful to each other nor to the girls.
Although it may seem strange to take a SAUNA in such a warm climate, the sauna turned into a great party, and definitely became clothing optional for me, my date, and two other couples. The girls found my intolerance for such humid heat to be funny. Silly sweating gringo. But they made up for the fun. The SAUNA costs 400 pesos, so share it with friends. There's room for 6 or 7 couples if you squeeze in, and that would be a blast.
Honestly, guys, the Chicas will try to get a little extra out of you, and are maybe a little more forward than in North America. But they seemed to be on somewhat better behaviour at the Ranch. Perhaps they didn't want to cross their boss and his new business too much. At any rate, they were far less scheming and demanding than I had been led to expect. Yes, I got taken. Yes, I sometimes tipped too much. But yes, I had a very good time and I'm not regretting it.

Sounds like you had a good time and for a first time the prices aren't totally out of line for what is being provided. If you were in Sosua you'd be paying on average $50 for the ST chica and another $50 for the room so for $79 you got the convenience of everything being turnkey and food and drinks being included to an extent. I fully understand the place has to make money also especially after putting a bunch of money into opening it so the pricing isn't too bad for what you get.

If you do any partying in Cristal's nightclub, make sure you get a written la quenta (bill).
I had a fucking cono try to rip me off recently.
I ordered an MGD and mi chica ordered a Bailys.
The cono tells me the price is 500 pesos and does not have the la quenta.
I was surprised it was so much and asked how much each drink is.
He said mine is 200 and hers is 300.
Fortunately, Kelvi, the bartender, saw me and came over to say hola.
I asked him how much our drinks were and he told me 400. I'm not sure what the breakdown was but I think it is 150 and 250.
I told him how this cockroach just tried to rip me off and the prick then claims he said 400!
I know it is only 100 pesos but shit like this really pisses me off!!!

There are a couple of small signs but they don't announce it or inform anybody so just let them know that you know what time it is.

Is sounds like a pretty decent deal and set-up for a first time monger experience. Not totally canned in and reasonable options. I think it sounds like a far better bang for the buck deal than at Vikings, Cat69, TotalSatisfaction, ect... I started myself at an all inclusive and went on from there. I would consider pointing a newbie traveller towards Cristals based on your report.
I am just mildly disapointed you did not venture out to look for an outside pick-up, experiences, and get to the lay of the land. But I stress just mildly. Great attitude towards this sport shown in your writting.

Thanks Terrierist,
Great info. I've wanted to go to Cristals on each of my last two trips and haven't made it either time. On my next trip down I'll be staying at a condo or villa on a weekly rate and will have 2 or 3 days in addition and now I'm thinking about a stay at CMR to fill in those days. When I add the daily costs associated with a visit, the cost at CMR are not out of line at all. If I was still a big drinker they would loose hands down.
I do have a question about the chicas from Cristals. Did you have any problems with any of them only wanting to go one round during the 4 hours or were they ok with a marathon session?
You also said you took a couple of non Cristals chicas back. Can you give us more details?

Or drink a shitload before you get there so you only need 1 or 2 while inside the place. At first, it sounded like an excellent idea, but then it hit me ...... I'd be walking in the door with beer goggles (or in my case rum goggles) .

For me it's a great deal. I easily spend $79 a day for food and drink.
The only problem is, I have to pay Crystal's inflated drink prices while I am waiting to pick out a chica.
Guys, I think that there may be some confusion...?
I think the all-inclusive rate including chica is $179 a day, NOT $79. At least that is what I thought I read...can anyone clear that up for us please??

I believe it is $179 a day. I just did rough calculations........
$50 Room
$50 ST Chica
$79 Food and drink for a day
-----------------------
$179

But if you stayed at the NG and stocked that up in your room a case of that beer is $24 and booze would be another $20 maybe. Maybe you like it brought to you, yo no say?

During a 2 week vacation in the DR 2 days at CMRR might be a nice change of pace. Turn off the cell phone, eat, drink and armchair chicas in a mellow place that is not BlackBeards. Along with a Cristals quality.......... The quality would be the deal breaker. Regular chicas hired for the ranch or the chicas available that will not go below RD3000 for ST.
But then again the New Garden is not in the middle of no where. NG wins........

It would certainly appeal to me over Blackbeards, which is the nearest comparison, and I am by no means a Blackbeards hater like some here.
Actually it sounds like I would choose this place over BBs, if I had to make a choice. It seems like a much better place to bring in outside chicas since the "AI" chicas are not on site and they have seperate prices for those who like to do their own hunting.

Hopefully in less than a year, I will find a 3 bedroom condo in Medellin. Anyone wants to give me $179 a night will get a bedroom, and 2 chicas a day to bang along with a frig full of beer. There will be a parade of chicas daily to choose from.

TTFN, I've packing and arranging to do.How was the connection, I don't think your report covered that?

Thanks for the great report.
Good luck in future your endevours.
Well, actually I did venture forth. I picked up a clerk in the Playa Dorada mall and took her back for the night. Willing, but no pro. And I was introduced one night to a semi-pro by an ambitious young man who drove us to a cabana and came back two hours later to pick us up. Damn, but I lost her phone number. Her name was Jeitme , and she was all that and a bag of chips (pardon the '90s slang). I paid too much, of course, but all-in it was 2500 pesos, including her time, the cabana, the ride, etc.

For my stay, there was no workable WIFI connection. They just got it going as I was leaving. So I had to use the computer in the front office that they set up for customers. It worked 50% of the time, at typical ADSL speeds as they were swapping the connection back and forth to the desk computer. This all got resolved as I left when the WIFI connection lit up the entire complex. I was getting 5 bars signal in my room Friday morning when I left. I expect they'll have some bugs to iron out, but they are well on their way.

OK, if your meals are as good as CMRR, and the selection of chicas satisfying, I'm in. But without the meals, maybe $129. I like good food.

I'm sorry to hear that. Please understand that I have very little experience in these matters, and was NOT able to negotiate with the girls because I just don't speak Spanish. I didn't try for TLN. Why buy one when for the same price you can rent two? But most of them OFFERED the encore engagement within the 4 hours, and only one refused and frankly we didn't hit it off well anyway, so that might have been why.
I also think guests of the Ranch might get treated a little better. The girls know we'll be back tomorrow and they would like to be chosen again (that's how they make money), or get an extended date. Plus, I believe Lino has been clear that they should be nice to those who patronize his new business. And, frankly, the Mustang Ranch staff know who's treating us well and who isn't. Most of them also work at Cristals. And back at Cristals, the girls know us because we pay with tickets, not pesos. Or maybe I'm just deluding myself, but there were very few, if any, unhappy customers at the Ranch, which seems to run contrary to other reports.
I don't really understand what you mean by hardcore. In Cristal's, the girls are extremely forward, but they all seemed to clean up very nicely when they changed to leave. I even took a carriage ride with one around Playa Dorada and was proud to have her by my side. She looked classy and acted classy in public (and a talented nympho in private, which is my definition of a perfect woman). I did notice that some were pretty full of themselves...in particular the very beautiful ones who obviously knew it. I tend to avoid women who are too full of themselves. When I'm paying, this should be about me, not her.
Finally, Jeitme (not from Cristals) called me today to give me her number again. Coincidence? After I said I lost it on the board yesterday? Idunno, but I'm glad to have her number back (and no, I'm not sharing ;) ,it's not my number to share). When my Spanish gets better (I start lessons on Saturday), I'll ask her if I can share her number...she's worth the trip.

It's a stretch to think that a working chica has access, and it's even a bigger stretch to think that there are working girls that read English well enough to understand the posts.

It's a truth that a certain "freckled favorite" is a picture/trip report member. Just ask her, no big deal, she only has BOD access not HQ.
I have said it time and time again!!! yet my rants go un-heard and guys still seem to vouch for that chica...SHE IS TROUBLE WAITING TO HAPPEN!!! I know guys are engulfed in her great "bed side manor" its only a matter of time before she does something very fucked up!!! i have also been told she has picture access and BOD access...:(

Its not a stretch. The chica network most DEFINITELY has intel on the pictures on the board. Who knows if they understand the posts but theres far too many instances of chicas knowing their pictures were posted (and quickly too so someones keeping up on it).

IMHO, the odds of a chica having access to her own account is far fetched.

by hardcore I mean girls that try to be lazy and after 1 time want to go to sleep. I do not have time for that. I would have went back to complain to the manager with my bud but we were too tired as it was our last of 9 days there and preferred to sleep. I am not saying I would not go there again, just that the girl I chose was a bad one. There was a nice tall thick light skinned one I may try next time who was the only one who wasnt jumping on us when we walked in. Also the TLN including the salida at cristals are much higher than at la passion or at the discos.
I'm sorry to hear that. Please understand that I have very little experience in these matters, and was NOT able to negotiate with the girls because I just don't speak Spanish. I didn't try for TLN.
