President Leonel Fernandez has asked the Organization of American States (OAS), the Carter Center, the National Democratic Institute, the United Nations Electoral Department or any other electoral monitoring organization to send representatives to the DR for the 2008 presidential elections. Fernandez told Hoy that the representatives of those entities should be in the DR before, during and after the elections in order to guarantee electoral transparency.
